The Watford defender nearest Tripps look like he's playing Son onside when the ball is played.

I've seen a replay where the telecaster superimposed the offside line across the field. In the build up, when Gomes punches, he's well offside and should have been flagged since he was interfering with play by making Gomes punch. However, on the cross for the goal he's not offside as he's behind the ball when it's played so when Watford fans say it was an offside goal they're wrong because it was a different phase of play yet he was definitely offside in the build up.
