Its great to have some very informative posters in this thread. Even with differing views but all back up their views well.

Great to read and learn.
Totally agree, fantastic information guys two great posts !! Must say my personal view agreeable to many or not , feels strengthened that AVB we must trust on this one .

I can see a big bid for Hulk. We could use him on the wings and as a striker when Soldado is out. We definitely have the money, our net spend with Bale gone will be minimal and if we sold Lennon, Sig and Ade then this is doable. Slap £25-30m down and see what they say.

thats not why we lost cl, we lost it because we couldn't break teams down at home.

I think all the late goals we conceded in the last 10 minutes of the matches also played a part. Lost out to the gooners by one point. Last season we lost 4 points to goals scored in the last 10 minutes. That cost us our CL place. The season before we lost 10 points due to 11 goals scored against us in the last 10 minutes. That also cost us CL football.

Not sure if anyone is going to agree with me on this but from a few games I saw of hulk he was very cute at cutting inside from the right and getting a shot. Ive seen him score plenty from this position. He has a hammer for a foot and when he hits them he gets a lot of power behind them. This is what were going to miss from Bale and IMO Hulkster is a definite for me. Hulk and Lamela could play RWF and LWF and interchange with one cutting inside and the other down the line whipping it in for Soldier

Not going to happen but actually nice to see some loyalty from a top player

Yeah, seems VERY LIKELY. No wonder it's gone quiet on him, after Jason Burt reported interest, and AVB's comments to decline the question asked him on Hulk.

And Hulk does seem like a guy who likes to keep his word. Apparently he's had a tragic childhood and adolescence. Which he always talks about it as being his identity, and humbling him.

Why is not Hulk neither playing or on the bench for Zenit today? Is he on his way to Spurs?

He did that in Portugal for a couple of seasons but I just don't see it working in the PL where defences are better organised and keepers are on average much better. His strength and the power of his left foot will get a few goals but I just can't see him ever being any serious threat in the PL as he is very predictable

I wouldn't want us signing him that's for sure

He's a different kind of striker, though. I'd say that's exactly what we need. The price quoted for Hulk is way over the top, but Hulk is a player who can make things happen when we struggle to break through a defence.

I like Hulk but I don't see this happening

I don't see him as being JAW DROPPING either

Also he wouldnt address our lack of craft and guile

Id be concerned about him being a more expensive Baptista if we signed him
