I meant in terms of style and stature, don't see how you can just write him off though, was only 18 months ago Tevez was considered as the Argentinian Dickov.

By who? United fans...? He has certainly stepped up a level at Citeh, but he was fantastic player even when he was less prolific. Offered so much more than goals.

I haven't seen much of Hulk lately, he may have improved. Also, a friend of mine who is Brazilian, whose opinion of players I respect, has seen him quite a few times and doesn't think he is good enough to get close to the national side. His assessment - no awareness, poor movement, and lose first touch.

Which probably means he would be great in the premiership in a backwards sort of way! But in all seriousness I think his style of play would suit the Premiership well. The comparisons to Tevez are justified. Of course he is not as good, but not many are.

I didn't realize that Hulk also has had 26 assists over the last 3 years with Porto.

Not sure if that's correct (see it on Wikipedia), Soccernet says 10 assists over the last 3 years in league/europe, though their data isn't always complete for the smaller leagues. Wikipedia could be including Portuguese cup and other side competitions too suppose.

It's probably right given he's been playing more as a winger/wide forward, but even this season playing closer to Falcao he has 24 goals 10 assists.

Hulk is a good player, but I think that Falcao is maybe the better of those two. Let's make a double swoop :) Would be good signings.

Maybe, but don't you think Hulk would be better suited to English football? I fear Falcao may get bullied somewhat whereas they'd just bounce off Hulk

May I ask why?

He's shorter, older and has only 6 goals in 25 for Colombia..

Falcao is only 3cm shorter than Hulk but is much, much better in the air. He has a Tim Cahill like leap and gets almost half of his goals with his head. It's true that he is older, by about 5 months actually, which as they are both only 24 is not particularly relevant. I'd ignore Falcao's international record as the Colombian team has been a mess constantly changing its formation and tactics and Falcao has often been played out of position. Another reason to prefer Falcao to Hulk is that Falcao has a Tevez like workrate constantly making runs and tackling back whereas Hulk is pretty static and when not scoring adds virtually nothing to the team. Hulk's secret weapon is making the defence forget that he is on the pitch.

Crouch's goal record for England is better than Rooney's, and Suarez for that matter. I know which player I'd rather have.

He's better in the air, quicker and better at leading the line. Suarez may be 5'11 but you can't honestly tell me you rate him in the air. Falcao has a great leap, and was the striker leading the line last season, Hulk played the supporting role. i'm a big fan of Falcao, he's a much better Tevez comparison than Suarez IMO.

I tell you what, I appreciate that you shouldn't get too excited from these complilations but that 8 min youtube vid has to be the best one I've ever seen of any single player in terms of consistent quality. There wasn't replays after most of the goals too, it was just awesome strike after awesome strike. Skill, speed, strength, my god, I never knew he was THAT good.

Not being funny but I just decided who I'll be praying for us to sign next.

Crouch is 6 years older than Suarez and only has 4 more caps, meaning Suarez has plenty of time to score a few more and catch up with his tally..

Crouch also does well in the Champions League. It just seems that the Euopean style teams struggle most against him. The Premier League is full of big powerful centre backs though, which makes it harder for Crouch to impose himself. Compare the centre backs in Spain or Portugal for example and they're often players who like to play out from the back and play along the ground. Which is probably why Rocha never really suited the Premier League, especially coming up against big powerful centre forwards.

To be successful as a striker in England you either need to be really powerful (Tevez, Rooney, Drogba) or very technical (Torres, Berbatov, Van Persie), although world class strikers often possess both qualities. The trouble with Crouch is, for all his size he lacks power, while technically he is good but not great. So we really need someone who is one of the above or both. I've not seen Hulk much at all tbh so i'm not sure if he is that player.

That wasn't my point. Clearly. The point is international scoring records are not a great indication for a striker's quality. I personally feel that Suarez is not the type of striker we need. I also don't think he has the potential to be top drawer. I will readily admit to being wrong if I am proved so, but that is just my inkling.
