I thought the rumours were he didnt want to take a pay cut to move? Plus how many managers did he have to work with at Spurs I very much doubt that HArry, AVB, Tim and Poch all ignored his concerns, simply doesnt make sence.

Oh and some people saying we are a meat grinder for players? Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale dont seem to have done so bad from us? VdV came to us and had his best seasons in years. In out current squad we have Rose, Verts, Hugo, Mason, Bentaleb and at the top Kane. Sometimes its a players mentality that means he won't succed, some dont settle in the country and some yes the club will be at fault but lets not focus on one individuals comments.

As I read it, I think he might have acted somewhat in spite after the first (few?) transfer(s) fell through due to to high fee demands.

As for settling players in, we must remember, these guys are in their twenties. Sometimes early twenties! I don't know about you, but when I was in my twenties, I wasn't the most mature employee ready to hit the ground running. They are physically very well developed, but might no be as developed mentally. If they need a little bit extra comfort on the human side of things, I wouldn't be surprised. Why does Spurs fail at providing it?

He can say what he likes. But at the very least I thought he would have said something positive about the fans. He had a good relationship with us. Did he conveniently forget that ?

But we have had successes? If no one met the valuation thats the clubs perogative, if he acted in spite it may show his true colours.

He singles out Lamela and when you look at it from his social media etc and the patience we have shown I dont see how he isnt being given time or where anywhere he has said he is unhappy. Its not in the clubs intrests to not help its players, sorry I call BS and sour grapes.

Although I can understand Gomes' frustrations, I genuinely can't remember the last signing we made, that wasn't telling the press how everyone at the club has been excellent, and how the players have made them feel really welcome, how they've been made to feel at home etc etc.

Sorry Heurelho, old chap, but you're spouting bullshit.

Some slate him for having "stolen" a living, but in the same interview, he suggests that he, after transfers were stopped, chose to remain calm and simply sit out his contract. Lloris said once that if hew knew that Gomes was staying, he would never have signed for Spurs. Which lends some credit to what Gomes says about lies. It's all very sad.

Sorry, but you need a source or this never happened. Actually I bet it never happened because there would be a giant thread about it and it would probably still be going today. Our fans are relentless in finding out nuggets of info and random quotes, the fact you're the only one to mention it means it's not true. Not to mention that surely a ITK or 3 would've been all over this if it were true.

Weirdly, I seem to remember him going back to Brazil, with the permission of "Lying THFC" so he could try to find a new club. I believe he was shown around 2 different clubs, one of which was in his home town. Both clubs were interested in signing him, but they couldn't afford the wages he was demanding.

He needs to remember the fact himself, before going around screaming about "Lying THFC" ?

It was actually a Gomes quote:

"Lloris told me he wanted to change clubs. He told me if he had known that I stayed, he would not come. He had a hard time. Lloris is a spectacular goalkeeper"

It doesn't make much sense. It's probably some empty gesture of goodwill that Lloris made to Gomes that got lost in translation.

Not surprised these that kind of noise coming from him tbh, I felt he was treated very very poorly by us
You mean being dropped for a string of absolute howlers for a keeper who's presence suddenly settled the defence as they at least knew he wasn't coming for anything?

Yeah shocking and he probably only got £45K a week for that. Disgusting.

It's hard to know if he was hard done by unless you were there tbh.

If he went to managers to confide (loss of confidence? He wasn't always shit) and they brushed him off, then I'd say that's shoddy treatment and bad management.

I always thought the media exacerbated the situation with Gomes.
He made some mistakes but was still generally a good keeper that came out a lot a bit like Lloris (who has also made mistakes) but the press then started to label him with the clown/octopus/calamity tag, and the microscope was on him, and he couldn't cope.

Be interesting to see how he copes next season if he remains Watford's No.1 as he will surely get similar treatment (to a lesser degree as Watford)

Funny that it isn't because he's now playing in a division below that we hear this!!

None of the players that have gone to bigger and better things slag the Club like this.

He was genuinely quite solid for a whole season if I recall. His mistakes though were at an unacceptable level for a PL keeper, let alone top 6.

Media pressure was hot partly because his mistakes were so appalling. Someone like Hart has made a similar number of errors, but as his were less amusing/mortifying (not to mention his golden english boy status) he wasn't scritinized in such a vicious way.

To be fair, no player is really going to say anything negative about the club he is currently representing. I cant imagine Capoue or Benji would say much positive about Spurs if they both leave this summer. Dos Santos is another who has spoken out negatively about his time at Spurs. Now i know the rumors about his partying problems during his time here, turning up drunk to training etc. They may be true, they may not, but maybe one reason for his acting up was because he wasn't helped to settle by the club and thusly felt alone and alienated causing him to fly back home. Ultimately nobody knows what goes on behind the closed doors of Spurs but i wouldn't be surprised if some of what Gomes has said turned out to be true. I just hope now Poch has brought in his team and looks to be shacking things up backstage that any unrest that has been lingering since Harry and AVB will be stamped out and forgotten about once certain players have been moved on this summer.
