"I would not recommend playing for Tottenham to anybody. It is a difficult club and they make promises that do not happen"
"Lamela was a great promise in Europe, but they didn't help him settle. You watch games and he looks like he cannot play Football"
"Tottenham only buy players and expect them to play well without any kind of support to adapt"
"When you are unhappy and struggling to adapt here, you voice your problems; they do not care. Nothing happens. They just ignore you"
"Paulinho still has a market in Europe, teams know he has quality. But it's a hard place to adapt, and especially without help"

He may have a point, at the time when he was at the club, but it seems that those joining do get more support under the recent management, certainly time to adapt in a new country.

Lets be honest here, as good as Gomes was with the wonder save, he was just as likely to drop the ball at a strikers foot seconds later - that had probably more to do with him not being selected than the support side.

Only had himself to blame with his shit blunders. Just another person looking to blame someone else without taking own responsibility, which seems to be the norm nowadays not just in football but in general life.

Not surprised these that kind of noise coming from him tbh, I felt he was treated very very poorly by us
Some slate him for having "stolen" a living, but in the same interview, he suggests that he, after transfers were stopped, chose to remain calm and simply sit out his contract. Lloris said once that if hew knew that Gomes was staying, he would never have signed for Spurs. Which lends some credit to what Gomes says about lies. It's all very sad.

The club should have worked with him to sort out his problems, instead they not only sidelined him totally but also appear to have done their level best to destroy his career by not letting him go for some unknown reason

Wait...we haven't given Lamela time to settle? Gomes makes it sound like we threw him into the deep end and expected him to swim. What the f*** is he talking about?

Maybe we did.

Just maybe shades of this are why our 'magnificent 7' have been such a disaster, generally? Just because we don't like to hear it doesn't mean there can't be some truth to it ... & frankly it would explain a lot

Not to mention other good players who've been a bit shit for us but good elsewhere (GDS, KPB, Siggy, Pienaar for eg)

I think there is some truth in this, especially in the past. The fact is we have been like a meat grinder for players over the last 10 years or so, bringing them in and spewing them out.

The caveat is tha Gomes also has a bit of bitterness towards Levy, so it's probably a slightly skewed viewpoint.

It's just mind boggling how many simple facets of running a club we've failed to look after properly - like a joined up scouting network and player liaison.

Sad to read this as I always had a soft spot for Gomes.

We certainly do churn through players and I think there are certain players who will wonder why they ever joined us.

When did Lloris say this? And why would he?

He would know more than any of us to be honest. He played a major role in getting us to the Champions League, set a record for least goals conceded at home that season too. The media witch hunt played a huge role in getting him ostracised, and the fans like they do sucked it up. He did more good than bad.

If you read his quotes, and look back over a few transfer windows... It makes sense. Are all of...
Vorm
Chiriches
Fazio
Dier
Yedlin
Davies
Capoue
Paulinho
Stambouli
Chadli
Eriksen
Lamela
Soldado
(+ Dempsey, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Holtby)
players who are somewhere between mediocre and decent, but nothing more? Almost all of them play or have played for their respective national teams, so they are among the best from their countries...
