I always liked Kaboul. I spoke out for him, because I thought he has something, during his first stint at the Lane. As well as being as delighted as everyone else when we beat the Scum 3 - 2 at the Scumerates (end a long win-less streak away to them), I also had a tenner on 3 - 2 at 40 -1. So I have some great memories thank to him.

But...wasn't the rift because Kaboul, along with Lennon (and 1 more) attempted to lead a players coup against Poch over training methods? Maybe Younes is conveniently forgetting that aspect of their relationship?

Allegedly and TBH that does sound plausible...

Interesting that Adebayor said that he had no rift with Pochettino himself.

Those were the rumours. Only the guys there at the time know the full truth I guess. Water, bridge and all that now anyway.

Fo' Sho'. And TBF at this distance from it, we should consider that they may have felt it was their responsibility and they were justified at the time. Not being rabid about it, as said, some good memories due to the Kabster :)

Just pointing out that it is slightly disingenuous (though very, very human) for Kaboul to only mention a skewed version of what Poch did wrong, while conveniently forgetting he himself may have done that was far from ideal to the situation (y)

These quotes from his interview add weight to that rift rumour if anything:

"When Mauricio first came we had a very nice, human, man-to-man kind of respect. And then something happened and I don't know what it was.

After a few games I went to see him, to ask what was happening. I needed to understand because clearly he wasn't talking to me. But he said: 'There's nothing, I've got nothing to say to you'."

Doubt Poch would act like that had something serious not happened

He's not going to tell him he thinks he's crap is he.

Wouldn't suprise me if he didn't want to tell him the brutal truth.

Actually, if a manager didn't think a player was good enough they probably would just tell them something along those lines, they wouldn't just blank them..

He sold him but didn't explain why.

I think we can assume he didn't think he was good enough or he'd have kept him.

When Poch no longer wants a player he is ruthless.

Going slightly off piste. Where is Erik Lamela. It's all gone very quiet
He'd injured and Pochettino has given regular updates.

It's a hip injury with a slow healing process. He was also in Argentina because his brother was in hospital. Seriously, it hasn't gone quiet regarding him at all.

You don't go from being club captain to not being talked to for no reason.
I think in the first place he was made Club captain along with Ade as vice captain to get them on his side. IMO he wanted rid of both when he arrived at the club but he knew that he had to bide his time.so what I am saying is that Poch may have just cut off Kaboul because he thought that he wasn't good enough and decided that was the best way to do it.

Sanchez defiantly not sure about Ozil he is unreliable.

Question is if we sell a few players like Carroll, Wimmer and Fazio will we really back Poch to go to that next level. Imagine a Isco or Lacazette signing, won't happen but that would make us future Prem contenders.
Wasn't Fazio sold to Roma? I wouldn't want Wimmer to be sold, I think he is quality backup. If Carroll wants to stay, I'm happy for him to stay.

I was very critical of him in the other thread, but after a very poor run of form and results we seem to have turned it around and are very much back on track. For the first time this year, in the last two matches we have looked like last season's Spurs, if we win the next two I think the Title will be on.
Well we really only lost to Chelsea and Man U and people started losing their shit.
We are a good solid side that is hard to beat but not a great side. Poch is a good league manager, I can't call him great when we haven't won anything and can't handle more than one competition.

It wasn't those results that were the problem actually...at all.

It was the turgid performances and the draws against Bournemouth, WBA and Leicester along with a whimpering exit from the CL.
