This just backs up my point further, it's come to those that support him having to talk up one half of football from one of our players (45 minutes), to say he plays well. This was against very average opposition. Ok he may have passed 1 or 2 balls 15 / 20 yards. But still no one tells me what else he can offer.

What about the 3 completely terrible fouls he gave away in this very good first half, where he showed yet again he has no idea on how to actually tackle.

Well no it doesn't, it just proves that you see what you wanna see because the 2nd half display backs up your confirmation bias, the reaction from his display should be neutral, by all means pick out his shortcomings but you should keep up the same energy to point out his strengths, you're not doing that, I wonder why...

Also lol at the bold, we should be all supporting him shouldn't we, that is literally the point of being a football fan.

Which was why it was so shocking when it comes to the 2nd half after Hojbjerg came on. He played like two different person!
Totally, I would have thought he would play with more freedom with Hojbjerg sitting behind him, but the tactics seem to change and winks sits and Hojbjerg goes chasing for the ball higher up the pitch. I think those to could offer something together with hojbjerg sitting.... thats a lot of hojbjerg in a hojbjerg paragraph about hojbjerg

Always wanted to see him do well as he is Tottenham through and through, but I'm struggling to take to him his constant giving the ball away and soft tackling don't endear me to him.
He is also so slow that he is always looking to grapple with opponents because he cannot keep up with them and gives away so many stupid free kicks.

That's 100% on Mourinho. We've played best with Hojbjerg playing the traditional DM role, but Mourinho keeps reverting back to Winks sitting deep and Hojbjerg chasing around. God only knows why.

Winks is a player we need as part of the squad. He at the moment isn't in our strongest starting 11, that said, there are games and situation in games whereby he is needed.
It's very simple with Winks, for him to up the stakes he needs to be more adventurous with his passing.
He might be the sort of player getting better with age but with Skipp coming up time could be against him if the right money comes in.

Forcing him into a DM role he was really not suited seems to have completely knocked the stuffing out of him. He looks a shadow of the promising midfielder he was when he first began to get starts. Real shame, but I just don’t see what he brings to the team.

The forthcoming games v City, Arsenal, Leicester and Liverpool will test the quality of our CM pairings. I worry that whoever we currently pair with Hojbjerg is not good enough, whether that is Winks, Sissoko or Los Celso. This is an obvious conundrum for Mourinho and it will be interesting to see how we line up. I suspect that the pairings will depend on previous game result and performance along with availability.

Lo Celso is certainly good enough, the question is whether he is fit and whether he can stay fit.

Against the big sides the pivot of Højbjerg and Sissoko is an easy selection. You expect to be in big transitions.

CM pairings is the issue for me. We've been far, far better with Hojbjerg holding and a CM either side of him in a CM3. Ideally for me, that would be Ndombele and LoCelso with either or both venturing forward when appropriate.

What role was Winks playing for England?

Not really sure but what was clear was he was passing the ball forwards at every opportunity. I genuinely think for us he is not being asked to do that so much or his role is different or we are being asked to play differently. He looked different in his approach. He isnt a defensive midfielder but the kind of player that keeps things ticking over
