You guys still follow him? I stopped caring when he left. I only came to this page ( I went straight to the final page ) because it’s international break and it was the top post in general football.

I get why some people will switch off from Kane now he’s gone. Personally I followed Hoddle’s career when he left for Monaco. And I followed Waddle’s, Gazza’s, Ginola’s etc. I’ll always follow Kane unless he turns on us for some reason. He’s at Bayern, not Arsenal or Chelsea etc so he’s still absolutely fine by me.

I invested a lot of time in Kane like we all did. I can’t turn off emotions just like that. I do admit though that I’m not missing him anywhere near as much as I thought I would but that’s obviously because we’ve started very well and he’s abroad. Remember too that people still love Pat Jennings even though he went from us to Arsenal. Kane hasn’t done anything anywhere near that bad so it’s still ok to follow his career and wish him well. He may come back one day either as a player or coach or ambassador.

The fact that most of us aren’t missing him at all is a good thing though!

And neither will Bayern. Which makes Kane's decision more baffling to me. I guess he's content winning a couple of Mickey Mouse cups over there.

They've just smashed their transfer record and signed the one of the best strikers in the world. I think they're taking it seriously.

I'll keep following Kane. He has been a legend for us. He could have downed tools plenty of times to go to a bigger club and didn't. He is our record scorer and I hope he comes back to take the PL record.

What a mug , your club captain you should want to win every game no matter what, stop talking shit

Full interview ^ Nothing bad really, just bigging up Bayern more than digging out Spurs. All true to be fair, if a team like Bayern, Madrid or City lose 2 in a row, social media thinks it’s a crisis. We’re nowhere near that stage but that’s the aim one day of course.
You don’t do Twitter then?

That’s what he said. He said of course he wanted to win things with Spurs. He’s just stating the truth that if Spurs lost 2 games in a row then nothing really changes and the press don’t go mental like they do in Spain for instance, if Madrid or Barca lose 2 in a row.

As in people on Twitter are losing their shit? Or are there more quotes on Twitter that I missed?

For the main part, I try not to do Twitter. I did see the usual meltdown tonight though. It changes nothing for me in all honesty. My general rule of thumb is if something is causing a meltdown on Twitter, then the opposite point is often correct.

If I didn’t want it to hurt that I had not won trophies, I would simply have turned up in any final.

Waddle at Marseille was ridiculous. Some of his goals there were amazing.

It is treated as a bit of a “disaster” when we lose a match, especially if we lose two in a row. We’re even very disappointed if we lose two in a row to teams like Liverpool or Man City and there is usually a big inquisition about it here and in the media.

I think what Kane was pointing to is the fact Bayern must be strong favourites in virtually every domestic match and most European matches they play. Whereas Spurs have lots of matches where we are probably slight underdogs - Man C, Arsenal, Liverpool away etc.

It’s funny because he is trying to make a point about the pressure and competitiveness of playing for a club like Bayern but it also underlines a lack of competitiveness in playing for a club like that. They are literally expected to win nearly every game.

Everyone knows that experience of defeating a novice player in a computer game or board game or whatever. I don’t associate that with competitiveness to be honest. Competing it when you go toe to toe with a well matched opponent.

I’m sure you’ll get people jumping to defend Kane here but I think it’s a valid criticism.

If we are talking about world class, best player in their position of their generation etc then you have to look at those big match, crunch-time situations. As in is this a player who was able to inspire and carry his team over the line? I would say he came up short in this respect.

It’s all very well saying he would have won something with better players around him but you can say that about anyone. Lots of average players have won trophies. But if we’re talking about world class players then the standards we are judging them by are different.
