Well if its done at least we know where we are so now let's see where we go. It's day one of the new era, it's going to be different under our new manager irrespective of Kane leaving if it goes badly we'll soon know and if it goes well I still wouldn't expect this season to be as good as it gets.

The news update has hit me hard now. I was one of those who felt him going to Bayern is the better choice - still think it is. But even I have to say his departure leaves me numb.

I fear for Ange as a manager. I fear for future of the club

On the 19th August, my son and I will turn up at N17, go to chick king, and into the stadium, to cheer on Ange and whoever wears the lillywhite, will I think of Kane? probably for a few minutes, but if he is gone, so be it, he owes us nothing, one of the best to wear the shirt. Ange and the rest will need us more than ever, onwards and upwards (hopefully)

Just checking for the first time this morning, haven't seen the confirmation he's gone yet, where did that come from?

It’s just a shit show, and I feel so bad for ange. Just WHY, why would you accept the bid a DAY before season start? He’s just been hamstrung before a competitive ball has been kicked, left didn’t even get his price he wanted?
i know people will say it’s about upfront payment, but fuck me!
genuinely cannot see the £100m being out bakc into the team ether, think lenglet comes back and we’re done, and a he will have to make do with richy.

Give Ange whatever he wants and let's move on.
It's a really sad day there is no denying that. A once in a generation player for sure.

The timing, glad to say I saw his last game and my 7 year oldnephew was chuffed to bits that he got to see Kane score 4 in a game. A special moment for him.

I really want to buy into the hope that we can use the money wisely but unfortunately I just can't. On the day before the season starts and after learning yesterday that Richy will be out and in need of an Op, do I really believe that DL will have a coherent plan on spending the money we have reportedly received to help out a manager who I had genuine hope would see us into a new exciting dawn, not in a million years 😒......

Gutted he's leaving. And to make it worse, on the day the league kicks off. 😢
Doing the stadium tour tomorrow. My youngest hasn't stopped going on about having his pic taken in front of kanes shirt. He's going to be devastated.
Same mate, hopefully I can get a photo of his shirt hanging there one last time.

Going to Bayern, Kane is protecting his legacy with us.

I hope to see some indication from Kane in his good byes that he will come back to us again

Good luck Harry. I wish you well. Best Spurs player ever and deserves our support.

Now invest. Invest well, and invest quickly.

This doesn’t need to be a net negative, but we need to act quickly

Surprised some people think we’re still going to be ok this year.

We haven’t fixed the defence and we’re losing 30 goals. 30!

We’re fucked.

Just when you thought you’d seen it all as a Spurs fan….bingo….another kick in the gonads. I get that some think it’s better to get something for him now rather than him going for nothing later but I’m firmly in the ‘he’s worth far more to us than 100m’ camp. This is a very dark day in our history as far as I’m concerned and I’m old enough to have seen quite a few. Anyway, along with all the other cliches, the club is bigger than any player, the king is dead, long live the king etc etc, it’s time to move on. For me though this leaves quite a nasty taste and I really didn’t want that from one of the finest players I’ve had the privilege of watching develop. And the absolute cherry on top is that this has happened the day before the season starts….you really couldn’t make it up..even for us.

It hurts like hell to lose a generational talent, and what makes it worse is the feeling we’ll be underwhelmed come September 1 with our transfer activity. I have low confidence we’ll get it right with the Kane money and feel for Ange.

Being totally honest here, if finding it hard to be upset about this. I just can't shake the feeling that this is a clean break we will look back on and identify as pivotal. That doesn't mean we won't suffer from it initially to some extent, but we needed a change of direction.

Kane has been wonderful, but part of me also feels that having him has also masked more fundamental issues with our direction and in some ways possibly held is back in the last 2 years.

I also don't think Kane is immune to some criticism for his role in our near misses. He could trade some of his many goals for a smaller number in huge games (England included) and have won trophies. Part of me feels like his decision on destination in some way endorses a niggle I have alway had that he has just a little something missing that makes him sit just below that world elite - those players that carry teams to glory. At Bayern he won't need that to win, which is telling maybe.

For me this isn't a disaster, perversely I am quite excited by what comes next. We have young talents, players who will fill some of the missing goals and an opportunity to bring in another striker. Let's not forget, Kane didn't look like he was good enough when he first emerged. But through the opportunity and his own hard work he made a his career. Well someone else may now get that opportunity that Kane had at that baron time!

Let's get behind Ange, his ideas, the players and really embrace this new direction. By the end of the season someone will have emerged or be emerging as a new hope - I for one am going to enjoy the process (sort of).
