Am I alone in thinking that Kane - for all his goals and past efforts in dragging this club, kicking and screaming, closer to success - could actually end up looking like the bad guy here?
He feels he’s taken us as far as he can and wants a new challenge. I get that.
BM came in and he responded by telling Levy he wanted to go there, leaving the new manager essentially firefighting with the press from day one.
Is it really too much to ask, with the club having agreed to let him go, and having obtained a suitable offer, that he gets on and does what HE has wanted to do all summer?
To my mind this is getting to the point where it shows a level of disrespect to the manager and his fellow players.
Obviously not by the amount of agrees... But that will be exactly how Levy and his PR team will spin it. But reality is Kane is a club Legend that Levy will trash to save face in the back drop of his footballing chairman deficiency's. No wonder Spurs fans a have reputation as being rather fickle.....Fans that side with Levy over this farce are pathetic and give Levy the strength to carry on running things as he sees fit😭

If you feel that way then fair enough, I'm torn myself. I just wonder how many who say keep him no matter what will feel in a year if he leaves to utd for nothing. I suspect many will be singing a different tune about how negligent we were to let this happen.
Yep this is why I was surprised how many disagrees I got when I said our fans would be far more annoyed with Levy if Kane walks on a free next summer to a PL rival than if Levy sells him now for £100mil to Bayern.

As it seems Levy has done the right thing in accepting the offer but now Kane is getting cold 🥶 feet 🦶 , you couldn’t make it up 🤣 🤦‍♂️

Only football.
Only Spurs.

We are 💯 a social experiment club.

But in the meantime, the collateral damage is Ange, his team mates and harmony in the squad.

I can't believe for a second we want a Harry Kane farewell tour spanning the season when it'll be increasingly apparent his future (and commitment) is elsewhere.
Do you honestly think the players are going to down tools because Kane might leave? Or maybe they all work together to try and have a great season to convince Kane to stay on. There's no world where we're not going to perform better with Kane even with 1 year remaining.

Spurs Shop website has changed the main home kit banner to a solo shot of Sonny.. pretty sure it was Kane (or a group pic including him) earlier today…

If, so that wat u based u theory and hopes on. There is no guarantee we will achieve any of wat u hope for. The only guarantee is £100m now and I will take that and deal with what’s to come than to hope we make CL.
I didn’t ask for any guarantee. It’s football. It’s unpredictable. And if anyone puts money over the chance of winning then I really don’t know why they bother watching.

What if it was Eze, Antonio Silva and Orban?
I don’t know if Eze would fit from a squad make up perspective. I think he’d be better suited to this system at LW than Son but that would render probably our most reliable goal scorer in Son far less useful, would you play him at striker or stick with Richy? Tough call tbh. Antonio Silva I don’t know enough about, I’ve only seen YouTube clips which is not enough to say if he’s worth it, just can’t really comment on that one, I only really watch Serie A and the Bundesliga other than the PL. Orban I’m not anywhere near as impressed with as a lot of others on the site. He looks awkward and very poor technically to me, good CB’s would be on him like a rash and take advantage of his poor first touch and ball control, especially with his back to goal. Top clubs can’t get away with having strikers with shit general play anymore. It surprises me that a lot of people can’t remember how frustrating Defoe was and the realistic outcome is that Orban won’t pan out to be anywhere near the player Defoe was.

Eze is a sure thing, I’d drop 50m on him and fully expect him to be class for us, especially with how easily he glides past players making him very well suited to the wing role under Ange. This is the calibre of player we would need to be targeting to give us a chance of not dropping off massively if Kane leaves in my opinion

What I have felt recently.

I was originally on the side of keeping him one year and seeing how it goes but then Ange seems like he may be able to get is firing even without him so I kinda was happy to see him leave as long as it is out the PL.

And the more you think about it, I think he made up his mind a long time ago. If he gets a brilliant offer from abroad now that can elevate him, he may go for it.

But he isnt in a rush as he knows he can leave for free next summer and he has simply seen too many false dawns here under this leadership.

The ONLY way I see him resigning is if Ange does far better than expected (push for a title, win a trophy) AND we get a takeover from ambitious owners who can sell it to him.

I just think he (like us) knows Levy all too well and knows that no matter what we will come up short.

Kane going to Bayern this summer would've been a lot easier to take than when he moves to a Premier League rival next summer.

Sorry, I am enjoying the fact that Bayern are getting embarrassed a bit as they thought he’d be on the plane and he’s not as keen as they thought lol. A big club yes, but many are bigger & maybe they are realising where they are in the world pecking order a little.

Off-topic but this is the best thread to ask in. Anyone notice any server issues? Today's been our busiest day of the window so far and I was expecting a few issues but things seem to have been fine on my end.
All good captain

I remember the feeling of togetherness in that first game against City, the atmosphere, the desire. They'll be like that again, willing to show exactly what they can do without him.

I’m fine with this. The last dance (hopefully win a trophy) then he leaves after spending his best years with us. He’ll be 31 next season. Only has about 4 years max left. Him leaving without ever lifting a trophy with us would be the saddest end to his Spurs career. I’m happy to have one more chance of that happening.
