The club is no longer willing to remain uncertain about Harry's intentions. While he initially set the pace, the club has since caught up, and Harry now appears hesitant about that potential move. Spurs' willingness to keep him hinges on a commitment, which Levy is now pushing for. While this doesn't necessarily imply an impending new deal, the club is keen to avoid a protracted saga and prevent Harry from gaining leverage after the transfer window closes.

What odds are looking more likely? Kane staying or going?

seems a lot has been going on and honesty I can’t be bothered to catch up.

Just to say, again, what is your alternative? Making bids to ourselves? Committing to letting him go for free next year?

As I said earlier you best a deadline, stick to it and deal with the consequences. What you don't do is allow it to takeover the entire summer and put your brand new manager on the back foot on the week of the season beginning. It's nonsense

And any owner with ambition to achieve isn't going to demand it either.

It's simple if I'm Kane. "Look Daniel I don't want to leave but you have to admit it's been a complete shit show the last few years. I really like Ange and he's really impressing me but I'm not going to sign an extension until I see if this is the real deal or another false dawn who is sacked by November"

Deal with it!
Christ I wish I wasn't such a pessimist and could actually see even a glimpse of hope of him signing a new contract at any point at all.

Unfortunately I don't and so I'm finding it impossible to join in on the excitement of him not going to Bayern:(

I think if he does stay, he will sign a contract. Ultimately it’s what Rooney and Gerrard did. Sure, he will have the pick of any clubs he chooses but I think there comes a point in an outdrawn saga that everyone wants to draw a line underneath it. This is probably equally exhausting for all parties, maybe more so for Harry with a new one on the way.

When he leaves for Manchester on a free in a year's time, DL can point to the fact that the club could have had £100m if Kane had agreed the year before - think it's a clever move by the club to leak that the offer was agreed.

Been thinking on WLBs posts:

Is it a case of the deal is definitely off so now we need to thrash something out to suit all parties.

Or is it if you are so keen to stay this season put your money where your mouth is - sign a new deal or take Bayern's offer.

Reality is he'd just rather continue to keep his options open after being locked in for years.

I feel like Kane has the leverage no matter what. He's one of the best striker's in the world, beloved by the fans and can go for a free next summer. We can't force him out, that'll look shit. If he goes on a free, well Levy cops the blame for not doing more to build a team around Kane.

Take Sumatriptan - best migraine relief ever ❤
Unfortunately does nothing for me. I’ve tried everything, even Botox…which funnily enough ties back into the forehead thing 😂 I just have to suffer/soldier on these days. Anyway I wont derail the thread with medical talk.

Imagine this whole thing, this whole time was all about him getting to sign a contract. Literally what SO MANY players from other clubs have ended up doing to us (i.e. signing a new deal with their current club).

That would be amazing.

Let's all hope this puts even more pressure on Levy to deliver the signings we need to actually make us competitive this season in the hope Kane will stay next Summer

I don't think the club is in any position to dictate anything in that direction. In the end, if Harry doesn't want to move this summer or sign a new contract in the next year, there is absolutely nothing the club can do to stop that.

PSG are finding out the same thing with Mbappe.
