Nevermind his goal scoring, its his running intensity and fitness that is the standout thing from today.

He's clearly not had this level of fitness and conditioning for about 18 months, in my opinion.

Had the season continued like normal without the virus you can bet we would of rushed him back from injury too. Then he’d of had the summer playing for England probably well below peak match fitness.

Haven't seen Kane play this well in long time. He's always been a great goalscorer but this was like 2017 Kane. All over the pitch causing mass panic in the opposition defence.

Mou on Kane:

Mourinho said:
"I think everyone thinks he's a fantastic player and Tottenham is so lucky to have him because he's the player, the person and the Tottenham boy,"

"All this together makes him really a special player for us that probably wouldn't be so special playing for another team. He's really special for us, he's really special for Tottenham.

"Of course we want him to be happy and for him to be happy he wants victories, score goals, and I'm so happy after an incredibly difficult injury he's coming in the direction where he's going to end the season perfect.

"Hopefully the beginning of next season he will be even better."

"It's difficult for me to compare strikers, but I had almost in every club some of the best, and of course he's second to none.

"He's just different, different qualities. But as a striker, as a goalscorer, as a team player, as a leader, I think he is fantastic.

"It's difficult to make him any better. The better the team is, the better he can be. But it depends more on us, on the team than himself.

"He's an amazing professional, he works very well, he cannot work better than what he does during the week, he's a fantastic striker, I'm so happy and Tottenham are lucky to have him."

Where are all these clowns in here that were saying he's past it a couple of weeks ago and that we should cash in?

If you want to contract aids read the comments under this tweet.

Came in to post this absolute shit take.

Thought it was the worst tweet I'd ever read before reading the replies.

I dont understand the hate he gets. Probably the most normal footballer in the world who has worked his nuts off to get himself to where he is but all he gets is shit from all sides

It’s ever since that goal he claimed off Eriksen there’s a certain type of football fan who dislikes his earnestness.

Think fans need to dry their eyes and get over it tbh.

The stick Kane gets is pretty pathetic tbh.

Guess it shows deep down really they’re bitter that their strikers are nowhere near as good as peak Kane is.

That was what, 3 years ago? Jesus wept some football fans are pathetic.

They also go on about how he should have squared it to Sterling forgetting that it would have been disallowed because he was flagged offside anyway.

Jealousy. That's all it is. All clubs in Europe would bite our arms off to sign him but fans of other sides in England can't abide us having him because he is so good.

I frequent a Utd forum at times and they have tons in there telling me how Martial has a 'higher ceiling' and will be better. I just laugh at them.

To quote Gary Lineker "No one with any understanding of the art of centre forward play would doubt the ability of @HKane. If you do doubt him, then you haven’t got a clue."

Either people don't want to like him, don't know enough about football to appreciate his talent (he isn't exactly the flashiest player), or have simply forgotten how good he can be after being so blighted by injuries. I'm sure his middling performances in the world cup and the CL final are a big part of it - if he'd scored a couple of goals like he did today against Croatia or Liverpool, a lot of the fairweather shitmunchers would've been gargling his scrote. "Fair play he's alright that Kane".

Truth is, regardless of what they think, the history books won't lie. Barring a career-ruining injury, he's a shoo-in for the top 2/3 EPL all time scorers and has a decent chance of beating Shearer's record. He's already Spurs' 3rd all time top scorer and if he stays for a few more seasons could take Greavsie's throne too.

You have to be Very. Fucking. Good. to do that.

There's a tendency among a certain breed of football fans to always rate players who are quick, agile, and can beat a man with pure pace and trickery higher than their less flashy counterparts. Kane doesn't tend to score those kind of mazy-dribble goals like Martial did against So'ton so in their eyes Marital's ceiling will always be higher.

This is, of course, completely absurd because Kane has already scored 142 Premier League goals in six seasons. How fucking high does his ceiling have to be for these fans?! At his current rate of scoring, Kane's ceiling is literally as high as any goalscorer the league has ever seen. Martial is only 2 1/2 years younger yet he's only scored 51 - he would need to score 30 goals for 3 consecutive seasons - something never achieved - to just get to where Harry is now, let alone surpass him.

That also ignores a lot of the subtler aspects of Kane's game: his vision and passing from deep, his movement in the box, his ability to score from every angle with his feet and head. It also ignores the fact that a large contingent of RedCafe wanted Martial to be sold not too long ago.

Some people are so desperate to hate him they'd literally use anything negative against him and blow it up to such an extreme level. Used to annoy me but I just laugh at them now.

It's pure jealousy from opposing fans. People cannot like the fact that Tottenham have a striker that is:

- Selfless, hard working, loyal, strong, intelligent, great passer and one of the most clinical strikers in Premier League history.

It makes me laugh when my mates say bad stuff about him, or as one of my Man Utd mates said the other day "Martial is potentially up there with Kane". It's just ridiculous. Martial, in this example, isn't or never will be in the same league as our Harry.

We have the best striker in the Prem & one of the best in the world and he loves us!

the pass in the second half to sonny (he fell down) was sublime.
Yeah, i was shouting at the TV to pass it because I could see, from my eye in the sky it was on, but Kane hadn't seen it, was faced the wrong way, moving too fast and then his just hits it! Prefect weight. Right into Son's path.

It was truly glorious.

Got Liverpool mates who think Klopp wouldn't play Kane ahead of Firmino... please.
