Losing Kane would have been bad 2 or 3 seasons ago but i think with Son we might cope. Of course the problem is we won't be able to rest Son. I wonder which genius in his infinte wisdow refused to sign a back up striker after losing Nando.

or we are going to integrate/use Parrot - a full Irish international and highly rated.

we have to play these guys or they will leave.

He’s just been over played through a lack of alternative. Muscle injuries are the result as we’ve seen before when players are over played.
He was knackered having run himself onto the ground vs Brighton, ans was then asked to play another 2 games with little recovery period - no wonder he didnt make it.
Dele was exactly the same - got through the games but with little impact but now needs rest.

Jose must have known this and should have rotated players. Loss of Son over this period hit us but fact that Skipp and Parrot have not been utilised is criminal

Funny when Poch was deemed by some as one who knew all seen all, but didn't hold him responsible for burning out Kane and indirectly causing his ankle to never fully recover. He played him so frequently whenever he can and so immediately after every injuries.

I'll take it positively at least he can have a rest. A hungry fully fit and running Kane will really be a boost in the later part of the season.
He hasn’t been previously.... he’s come back and been anonymous for 5 or 6 games.

He's been fairly anonymous in quite a lot of games anyway this season. Obviously service is some of the problem, but Kane keeps picking up the knocks and seems to become more of a shadow of his old self after each one. Very worrying.

I’m sorry this is just one thing I’ll never agree on. It’s ridiculous to not have a recognized backup striker.

Pure typical spurs recruitment incompetence as we should have been in market for someone as soon as we let Llorente go (and should have used Llorente more to rest Kane when we had him).

And really we should have been looking for someone younger than Llorente even when we had him.

There just seems to be real stupidness and laziness around player recruitment and Levy has to shoulder heavy blame, as happened under Redknapp and Ramos too where we were left very short in certain areas and unbalanced.

As a result we’ve probably fucked Kane physically as never rotated him properly and it’s a recurring theme now him getting a nasty injury per season.

And it’s nonsense we couldn’t get anyone as Kane is there as you can clearly see there’s plenty of playing time for two centre forwards.

And I do also wonder if some of his performance issues are that he’s just pissed off with players around him being crap.

He’s not able to do things he could do when first broke into tea but you could see with England how he thrived ina proper 4-3-3 system with two pacy players wide of him.

And people can point out recent England games have been against lesser opposition but then Norwich and Southampton would also be considered not the greatest opposition and we didn’t win against either of them.

He's definitely not himself. I'd say it's more because he's struggling in a shit side but individually he seems to have dropped off significantly. Now he has his annual January injury, I swear he gets injured this time every season.

We will be looking at at least 6 weeks without him I imagine. Hopefully it's not a torn hamstring, could be a season ender.

There are few things in life you can be sure of. Death, taxes, Lamela getting injured in the Autumn and Kane getting injured in January.

Praying for good news on this injury. Would hate for it to be like Dele last season. If so, there's no way we could sustain any kind of form this season. We have next to no alternatives. Jose said as much yesterday

He'll be fresh and ready to report for England duty no doubt.

Loves his country does Harry. That's nice for him.

This is the frustrating part. I might be wrong but I think winning nothing with us has made his hunger for England larger .

Rooney was winning trophies galore at utd and wanted to be fresh week in week out and would miss pointless England games .

For us there’s no trophy drive at all, I think it plays a big part the culture of our club is not good enough

One of the biggest frustrations for me at the moment is we have one of the best centre forwards in the world, who came through our own academy, and it’s looking more and more like we’re gonna waste this chance.

The other frustration, as I’ve already mentioned in this thread is that we’ve also thrashed and damaged him through our shit poor recruitment in not getting in another decent centre forward to let him take a breather.

People can argue yeah but Son can cover, but then when does he get a rest? (apart from when he gets himself stupidly sent off).

And Moura is not a reliable, consistent alternative to play up top.

I’m just absolutely mystified by the whole thing.

Would love to know was it Poch veto’ing forward options or perhaps Poch just getting fed up with our shit recruitment and just not being bothered anymore in the summer. It seems like we just got too fussy, which is wuite

I just cannot understand between the two of Levy and Poch how they couldn’t have found SOMEONE who played up top. They just gave up after Jansen flopped. And even Jansen was handled poorly really.

So irritated with Spurs at the moment.

Irrirated that our best manager in many years, who I loved deeply, managed to go from so good to so bad (even Wenger in his crappest period wasn’t getting such bad results).

And now Kane getting injured again and his looking like he’s getting pissed off as he’s not putting in so much of a shit just tears it really.

At least in the nineties you could clearly see why we were shit, but when you have someone as talented as Kane up top and the midfielders we have it just fathoms belief.

Yup.

Hate to have said it and was surprised some people agree as we all genuinely love the guy BUT... Yes, England is a big deal to him. I very much doubt that, for example, Champions League winner Jordan fucking Henderson cares as much.
