If he keeps this goal scoring form, and if we cut the stupid mistakes all over the field, and if Lamela remains fit for most of the season, we might be able to battle Man City for second place.

Are we really doing this?

Meh, why not...

For what it's worth, every time I see him play I think he looks a footballer... not just another strong/fast/tricky athlete with a stupid haircut.

Comparisons to Teddy are accurate.

You know how people are always banging on about what's wrong with English football? Well one of those things is that for the last 20 years, there's been this way of thinking that fast or strong = good. And if a lad is fast/strong, then he's getting picked at a young age over the others... so technique and intelligence is waylaid. Hence the England team is full of limited cloggers or nippy lightweights, and no actual footballers.

This concept of no pace = no goals is garbage as well. Teddy Sheringham lacked pace, but he was a step ahead in his brain and as such got the Golden Boot twice. Alan Shearer lost his pace after his ligament injury and yet still managed 20+ goals every season until he retired.

Players like Harry Kane are a breath of fresh air.

I'd shag Harry Kane if I'm honest.

Particularly smug about that last one...

Watched a re run of the full 90 on sky. Best performance by kane I've seen in a while. Like his old self, and was very impressive showing. Seemed to play point up top too, which I prefer from him. He always dropped deep but on occasion like Saturday. Some lovely all round play and consistently throughout the 90. Also some powerful running and more aggressive with chasing.

Don't get to too many games but was at the game this weekend and was just struck by what a consumate professional Harry is. He shows up in the centre of the back line defending a free kick, instructing Toby of the appropriate distance to stand from him and at around 85-90 mins he was jogging towards the ball boy signifying that he should relax and take his time in getting that ball back for their right back. All of this marvellous game management technique backed up by an attitude that is second-to-none and he can, and often does, score from virtually any situation (see attempt from half way line - again! - without even a glance).
If we are determined to win anything this season, or even if we intend to rebuild and settle for taking top 4 only, it will require Harry using those attributes to drag us through games like Southampton. God, are we blessed to have this guy.

I know he's only made one appearance for the first team, but I honestly believe he'll go on to captain England and win the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot with 6 goals.

By January 2017, I expect him to have changed his name to Barbara.

By September 2019, I expect him to have scored roughly 170 goals in all competitions for us (130 in the league).
Two out of three ain't bad.

Just read the first page of this thread. Quite funny knowing what we know now know about Harry. This thread basically charts his career for 8yrs, through the eyes of SC.

Search yourself in the thread. Then you chart his career through your eyes. Might be interesting. Or not.

If Kane doesnt score 20 in the next 15 league games, i'll be alittle annoyed to be honest. More would be meh. Less would be annoying. Im talking exactly 20 in 15....And 30 in 39(all caps) :pompous:

Feel sorry for him.

Getting to the point where I'd understand if he leaves looking for actual success. He's coming up to 27 and is world class.

Feel for Kane big time. Imagine being the quality player he is and watching your manager play a formation that ultimately means that he has to run around to try and get a touch of the ball. I honestly wouldn’t blame him for wanting out at the end of the season, he would have his pick of any team in the world and would finally win the trophies he deserves.
