I think you have to look at Vlahovic in the front foot attacking Fiorentina side rather than the ultra pragmatic Juve team.

I'd love Vlahovic, seems like the ideal battering ram forward for the system (despite not being super quick) and crucially seems available. Seem to feel Herc ruled him out earlier in the window though so maybe Ange isn't so sure.

I want whoever Ange wants. Blank check.
What I haven’t yet worked out is if Ange even has his own specific targets or whether he really is very focussed purely on profile and takes advice from analysts on specific names and then looks at the data to then approve or veto.

Having put up with Poch, Jose and Conte only wanting specific players, it might be quite liberating if Ange is very open minded.

Your original post was too long to read but to answer the first sentence about why we have to insist he's free to travel is the German media made some shit up. Our journalists asked the club and they said kane is free to travel. It's not the club being difficult or having to insist he's free to travel, it's just us confirming german media is once again full of shit

I think this is a fair comment, straw that broke the camels back for me I feel, not in terms of anger but in terms of being sick of it all being spun.

Because everything else we generate from the stadium TV rights and prize money just never existed? He can't spin that although there will be some in here that try to.
I really don’t understand why some leap to Levy’s defence anytime he is criticised. It’s like he’s their dad!

But we've got Richarlison.

We are patently not signing a new number 9 for mega bucks.

Not Muani
Not Vlahovic
Not anyone
I never mentioned mega bucks. Just someone who is more established to come in and do a job now. The Richarlison news whether true or not is a good indication of how we would be if he gets injured. If it's true and he's out for a bit do we really want an unproven player or do we want to move Son from his preferred position? We need someone who is proven in a bigger league who can come straight in for me.

It's obvious we need some sort of quality forward option, it just doesn't necessarily have to be a number 9.

100% opinion, but I don't think people should get their hopes up about us reinvesting the money.

The '100m last summer' was a loan that allowed us to get Richarlison and eventually Maddison in as Kane's replacement in aggregate.

I reckon we'll go in for Orban and another CB at around 60m total and thats it. And then whatever happens with the hojberg situation.
A few informatives - fyi this is total opinion. No idea what our plan is from here.

But an "established" striker is going to cost mega bucks, or put it this way, going to be our record transfer fee paid.

Well, you should be suprised as there’s absolutely no evidence of this ‘policy’ since the stadiums been in full use.
That's fair

Although if we do sell Kane without bringing anyone else in we'll be at about the same level of net spend as Aston Villa over 5 years

That’s basically where I’m at. I simply didn’t believe Conte or Mourinho had a plan beyond “expense”, because they have previous for complaining about a lack of resources at a club with far more resources than us. But Ange’s style is different, and I don’t think (or at least hope) it’s not “this specific player or i whinge to the press” will be the angle. It’s exciting in a way.

Where is this £125million+??
I'm not mystic Meg but I'm pretty sure we won't spend over £125million in the next 3 weeks

Transfer fees are not paid up front. Suggestion from the Kane deal is that we are receiving a big deal up front. FFP wise it's all booked to this year, not to mention the huge saving on Kane's wages. New signings are spread over the term of the contract.

You can easily turn a deal like Kane's into £150-200m worth of signings depending on contract length and wages terms. We'll be aiming at younger players so both of those are likely to be conducive to that.

It's basic accounting.

The only big question mark is if some of our deals from earlier in the summer were taken from the Kane pot. But based on other PL club spending and our stadium review I don't think that should have been the case.

Yeah even an established right forward with goals would do for me. I would happily do that in addition to a young prospect like Orban for centre forward.
