We only played them on Sunday. Would have been a bit of a kick in the teeth to see him line up against us had the deal been agreed beforehand.
Not that I’d care that much. I think he would have succumbed to a couple of reducers.

Also, just watching that Sky Sports clip.
Why didn’t Kaveh simply state that we HAVE been in CL finals and challenging for the league title and league cup whilst he’s been here?

I mean what fucking more does he want?

The team made it to the absolute brink of success, and has done on more than one occasion. Yes. It’s fallen short. But I don’t think that’s anything to do with lack of ambition. I don’t even know how Kane can use that as a stick to beat us with.
“Ambition” to him is simply “winning things”. He’s had ample fucking opportunity.

Exactly. We were even top of the league for the best part of a month, almost half way through the season, with Jose Mourinho in charge who was meant to be the master of winning things. So yes I feel that short of buying an established central defender last season we got everything Jose asked for plus Bale, which was "ambition" at the time without the benefit of hindsight.

The fact it all went to shit after that is down to the players and manager.

Tell you what, though. Fuck being a footballer. Could you imagine turning on the telly and everyone and his dog was talking about you, possibly very inaccurately or in a snide manner? I know they get adequate compensation, but even so.
It wouldn’t be that nice.

I’m all up for selling him but I have a real concern about the lack of quality strikers available on the market. Which funnily enough should force Kane’s price higher.

It’s a massive gamble I’m just not convinced by Vlahovic especially at the prices quoted of £60m+. I don’t believe Inter will sell Martinez, what real options does that leave us?

I could accept a gamble if we managed to secure PL proven Ings but even he went for stupid money. I just have a horrible feeling that we are now heading into another season unprepared and solely relying on Son not getting injured for goals.

To be honest, he kinda bought that on by himself. I agree with you that you basically get no life but the circus surrounding this, is pretty much on him.

Also what is it with this whole challenging business others keep saying - we are joint top as things stand currently fucks sakes.

I actually think that the deadline has passed.

The only thing we know for sure is that Levy has said that he isn't for sale and won't even talk to city.

The deals we were looking at have gone very, very quiet for a week or more. Surely it's no coincidence?

There is no way levy sells kane without a replacement at this late stage unless a ridiculous bid comes in.

My feeling is that it's over. Kane will play on Sunday and will stay this season. And in all likelihood, next season too. Who will buy him at 29 for the money levy will want?

If we could have sold him a month ago and brought in decent replacements then I'd be all for it, but that has not happened.

Exactly, it makes sense that we would be stone-walling any bids if the deadline has been passed and that Paratici could enter the final two weeks of the window with certainty of his budget and possible targets.

Oh yeah, I agree, totally. Plenty of footballers manage to stay out of the tabloids and off the telly etc.
But one false (or very dickishly calculated, in this case) move and BLAMMO. Destination Fucked.

In fact, I would even speculate that the deals we have been hearing about were contingencies in case City actually made an offer that we couldn't refuse eg £160 million cash. Levy would have sanctioned the bids for Martinez and the lad from fiorentina. As it is, we couldn't go any further than making offers and in the case of the fiorentina player, we couldn't even guarantee that he would play! The deals have gone completely cold.

I just can't see a deal of this magnitude, the second biggest in football history, happening at the end of a transfer window. It just isn't going to happen.

I do strongly believe it's over and Kane stays.

I am conflicted, but I do feel it might not be in the best long term interests of the club.

This is the time he's got the most value and at his peak. It gives us the funds to supercharge the squad.

It could be looked back upon as an opportunity missed, especially if Kane's form dips or his ankles go.

Just popped into BlueMoon to see what all the fuss was about and I'm famous!

I've actually just come over quite sad now about the whole thing. A lot of us (myself included) borderline worshipped the man and it felt so awesome to have "one of our own" be one of the very best players in the world. Someone most other fans were genuinely terrified to see on the team sheet. So now that the initial anger to the way he's seemingly tried to fuck us over has died down a bit, it's all just a bit sad.

Ultimately I think he's just a bit thick, or at least someone who's never really faced much in the way of adversity so doesn't have a very developed view of the world. He was easily swept along by the narrative of "winning trophies" and hasn't considered what his long term legacy could of been. I do genuinely believe he'll regret the move, whether it takes 5 years or 20.

Then someone followed it up with some braindead comment saying "Kyle Walker massively regrets the move…" with a link to a picture of him and his PL medals. As we all know, before Walker left we all thought he would be a long term Tottenham legend and he was definitely always "one of our own". So I'm glad they managed to group their 3 braincells and completely miss my point.

I also liked one from MCFC1993:
Daniel Levy...we're not fucking rivals!

And before the 'they beat you' claims come in from rival fans, they also beat us 2-0 last year, we won the league, they finished 8th.

Take £125m, it's £35m more than he's worth and put the money towards winning the prestigious European Conference League.

Hard to know where to start with that one. The part where they value him at £10 million less than Grealish. Or the part where they manage to come off as both arrogant and insecure, which is quite a challenge.

Fuck City and fuck everything about them. I'd be very happy if you told them to fuck off Mr Levy.

Also I'm starting to feel more and more confident that we don't have money in our transfer budget. If we had, you would expect at least that the transfer of Tomiyasu would already be completed.
But we still haven't bought anyone for the actual money (Gil was funded by the money from Alderweireld and Foyth transfers)

Very true. But we surely can't be seen to sell him for way below his true value? They were only offering £100 million up until last week! That wouldn't supercharge the squad imo! To replace him would cost £160 million or more, that is why I presume that levy wants that much.

Just look at the cost of the 2, relatively unproven, players that we have supposedly been looking at! Not much change out of £160 million with no guarantee that they would even be able to replace Kane. We have a player that will score and create between 40 and 50 goals next season. That has a value.
