Would take Lauturo or Vlahovic over Jesus all day long simply from a system fit. I am completely convinced Jesus has a bit of the yips about him and that's fine when you're at City and you will still get 5 shots a game in the penalty box on an off day. Less so when you are at Spurs and 5 shots would be your best game of the season. He'd be a useful option and rotation but there's a reason Pep opted for no striker last year rather than him despite his other worlds xg+xa p 90 numbers.

What's your feeling on preference out of Vlahovic or Lauturo if Kane stays? Probably the ideal situation is we get both and move on if Kane wants to go but if Kane stays, I know logically it would seem Martinez makes sense due to his style but I just wonder with Kane dropping deeper and deeper if getting a proper 9 in would be the way to go and have more of a Rooney / Van Persie style partnership.

Sadly, it's more than one person and it builds up when the same person(s) keep doing it to our ITK's who are here for our benefit, we've had a few people think they can have a pop like this. We're hot on ITK bashing but every now and then, we get people come up with the genius idea of taking the piss via ratings is a way of doing it on the snide. They are wrong.

Having said all of that, generally, I think anyone complaining about ratings should give their head a wobble. But in this case I do get it.

I get it but they're just ratings on an internet forum. Im sure everyone has had a lot worse in real life and there's a lot worse that goes on in here in terms of abusing players and managers etc.

Perhaps after years of getting the piss taken out of me i have thicker skin.

Fabrizio says on his podcast that Gabriel Jesus has been offered (as well as Laporte) as part of the deal. We’ve said no to players being included previoulsy though.

Must say, Jesus is a striker of very high quality. Don’t think we could do much better on the market. City’s valuation might be off though. I’d say £50m (probably worth a bit more in reality).

So good in fact that Pep would rather play numerous players out of position, than to play him as a CF.

That's harsh because he's clearly not a poor player to be where he is, but you see the point when it comes to how much City value him at.

if Kane leaves, whoever "replaces" him will not be anywhere near as good. We can forget about a like for like replacement, because there isn't one and even if there was we couldn't afford him

His goals and assists will have to be replaced with maybe 2 strikers, better goal contributions from midfield, from the likes of Bergwijn, Lucas, Dele, Gil. Hard to see how Sonny can do much more than he already is.

They clashed a lot when Jordan was involved with Palace, IIRC they are actually on good terms now....
Jordan has always said he doesn't particularly like him, but that he does respect and admire him as a businessman and chairman. He has always said he's very good at what he does.

Jesus has a good goal record but my late nanny could score goals in that City team with the amount of chances they create.

From Bluemoon...

some guy said:
We should just go and buy Haaland. City shouldn't do business with any club that want to maximise the money they get paid for someone. We're better than that.

Pretty much sums up what's happening at the moment. Not a lot.

It is a strange one. I must admit I initially felt the same. My guess is isn't quite seen as a player with that super high ceiling of a Kane or Haaland, and possibly doesn't suit Pep's new style of play (he's in a new cycle now).

It's weird because he came in and Pep preferred him to Aguero for a long period, which is high praise. He works hard, is mobile, presses well and can score with both feet and head. Seems to get in the Brazil side ahead of Firmino too. Pep has tweaked things in recent seasons to try and retain and recycle possession way up the pitch which suits link up players which could be why Jesus and Aguero were being left out. Kane has that link up ability which is rare in a lethal striker.

It also seems Pep has been on Kane for a couple of years now so maybe he's been playing no striker to try and convince his board to pay the massive fee for him?

Personally I'm looking at Jesus and Laporte and thinking that is the basis of a really good rebuild. Laporte is an excellent PL proven CB who is a great fit as Romero's partner. Jesus is a top international striker of a good age that should allow us to get back to a fluid high press style. A front 3 of Jesus, Son and Lautaro has the pace and work rate to worry a lot of teams. Put a solid midfield and defence behind that and you have a hell of a competitive team.

He told me word for word a few months back "Daniel Levy is an accountant at heart and he's probably somewhere on the spectrum, he wants the best for the club but his natural instincts will always be to think firstly about forecasting the numbers, he needs to step away from the football side but in terms of sustainability and growing a club the right way there is no-one better. I'm still in contact with him quite regularly as we've had many conversations previously and people who have worked for both of us, Paul.K, many lawyers etc"

That is also when he told me he thought we would end up going with Nuno.

He then told me he thought Gary Neville was a word beginning with C that rhymes with runt.

I think his opinions on Kane situation, how Levy will be handling it etc will likely be fairly bang on.

Really don’t want Jesus as part of the deal. Really don’t rate him that highly at all. He is ok but nothing special.
I think people forget how sensational he was when he first came. He's been a bit off-the-boil for a while because I don't think City are managing him well.

With the right manager *cough*Nuno*cough* he could be amazing for us. As to whether he can play the lone striker role better than Martinez, I don't know. I think Jesus has played there before?

Yeah like I said he's not a poor player, but it's hard to see how they value him so highly financially when they won't play him. Don't get me wrong in swap deals(which are rare anyway) the player that is coming with cash is always going to be over valued by the selling club.

As I've said before though we want cash to bring in those we've already identified as a good fit and won't break the bank wages wise. I don't see Internationals coming from City not requiring top dollar if they are stepping down though.

Seems a bit like the Brazilian Anthony Martial - not that they are necessarily similar players, but purely they appear to have been young and mega talented, but seem to not particularly look that great in any position... yet still, apparently, valued higher than players who are less talented but actually good at their job.

When you reference Paul K are you talking about Kelmsey? Apologies if you know him but that guy is the ultimate snakey snake.
