Once these stories begin its inevitable that he's going. In that case, its better he goes now, rather than having a year of limbo. We'll get more money from him now and we can begin re building sooner, rather than jusk kicking the can down the road for 12 months,

I don't think it's as simple as that. I don't think there will be a huge difference in what he goes for now compared to next season.

The compromise should be we agree an acceptable fee with Kane for next season now. We then invest that money this season and if we kick on maybe Kane wants to stay, but if we don't we have a better more settled squad and manager to deal with our best player leaving.

Don't see Levy taking that gamble in all honesty think it may get uncomfortable for all parties tbh.

We need a massive gamble to win anything. And ENIC needs a massive gamble to sell at what they would want. The value of the club is tanking by the minute. With the amount of debt they’ve saddled us, the extreme disconnect and toxicity between club, trust & fans, the best striker in the world who is an academy product wanting to leave like yesterday. Stadium & training ground can only do so much. And what good are they when the team is stuck in the doldrums? Our value is taking a nosedive at the moment. And that is all on Levy.

I am not going to speculate over Kane's future, the truth is none of us know what's in his heart or going on in his head. Hope to hell he stays, but if he goes then I remain in awe of the mans talent, dedication and hard work. He has been my 8 year olds idol for many years!

The sad reality is that he has become, what feels like, the only difference between us dropping back to mid-table mediocrity and actually having half a chance of competing 'somewhere near' top 4. I get that most teams have a talisman, but I would argue that the good teams still have depth and quality built around such players and are not solely reliant on them. We do not have enough of that, if at all.

Where will the heart and soul of our club come from? Who will be our talisman? After getting so close with Poch, then our slow decline at end of his tenure, followed by whatever the hell Mourinho was, we need somebody now, more than ever, to galvanise and keep the club together. Difficult to see where that comes from if Kane goes.

Just my opinion, albeit overly emotional drivle...no doubt I'll feel better at the start of next season whatever happens

JJ confirming that there's no need for Harry to come out and clarify anything as he didn't tell the club he wants to leave. Can't get much clearer than that

How serious would it be to lose Kane?
He is our top scorer with 22 goals.
Look at the teams above us and their top scorers....

Man City...top,scorer is Gundogan with 12. They play without either of their strikers most of the time.
United...top scorer is Fernandez with 18, their main striker is Rashford with 11.
Chelsea...top scorer is Werner with 8, he’s their main striker for Gods sake.
Leicester...top scorer is Vardy with 13.
Liverpool....top scorer is Salah with 22 but they play without an out and out striker.

Kane outshines all of these top scorers but they are all, above us.
Even Son who has 17 goals which is higher that these clubs top scorers with the exception of Salah. They are above us though.
If he goes and we brought in a striker who only scored about 15 a season and a midfielder who could provide the assists would that be too bad?

Sorry what?
A back up striker?
He’s a club legend and one of the best this country has ever seen!!
Why are some fans like this?

I'm not referring to him as a back up striker in our setup - he is exactly as you describe him - but it is in the context of im being a Spurs player that we see him as he is, but I have strong feeling he will be seen as that in a set up like City have, perhaps even as a deeper player. Do you think he could walk into that team with his record against bigger teams, and in crucial games? It's something that will seem like a gamble if you are paying upwards of £90m as has been touted - although if that was the release clause then what the hell was Levy thinking? His shirt at City will sell a lot, but i would seriously wonder whether he'd fit there. Man u is a better fit but only insofaras he'd be looking to satisfy a need for CL footy - not trophy hunting per se.

he's shit anyway, pen/tap in merchant! ..

in all seriousness though, if he does go to someone else in the league, how the rivals react to him, and still class him as shit!

Already been said but how many of Sons 17 has Kane had a hand in? Along with the fact that Kane creates space for others too.

We need a new CB and RB too, and be more than the sum of our parts. Its not as simple as saying we can sell him and a midfielder and striker will be fine in his place.

Some journo has actually asked Arteta if Arsenal would be in for Kane. How do they bring themselves to ask questions like that? I bet half the room died from second hand cringe.

I don’t agree with JJ here, this is causing so much disruption so if it’s actually bullshit as it’s being suggested, it would be much better for all involved that Harry comes out and denies it.

All those teams actually have other players that are good.

If you’d consider our biggest game is against Arsenal as our main rivals and supposedly a ‘top 6’ side, Harry Kane is the all time leading scorer in NLD’s now.
He’s scored home and away against all top 6 clubs, in fact he’s actually scored against every premier league team he’s ever faced.

Kane would be a bona fide star in any team he plays, he’s that good.
He’s a phenomenon.

Likely to become England’s all time top scorer too.

And £90 million, haha double that and then we’ll talk.

Splitting hairs really. I don't believe this story was released behind Harry's back. He would deny it if it weren't true. But while he may not have asked for a transfer outright, I'm sure he's made it clear that he's not happy and would like to move on if the chance arose.

Need a Jack Grealish kind of signing if Kane leaves, a truly exciting and creative player who would easily walk into our XI. And Danny Ings, Sabitzer + a couple of really solid defenders.
Jack Grealish is most potent coming in off the left - Son's position. Are you suggesting that if our top scorer leaves we should bring in a marquee signing to replace our second top scorer?

I think we would instead need to sign a quality no.10 to play in a central role, to compliment whoever we sign to play as the no.9.
