Can't help but feel it's a bit of a conspiracy to show Kane "look - you can't even win individual awards at poxy spurs any more"

Didn't think I'd be annoyed as I am about this. How does a player who was involved the number of goal involvements as Kane was in a seriously underperforming side, not get POTY? Absolutely baffled by it.

I'm sure Harry will have a laugh about it with Dias next season when they are playing in the same team.

Part of me thinks its almost a symptom of him being so consistently good over the years. While he was ridiculous this season, he been so good its expected of him, so it doesn't seem so out of this world when he's playing like that and people don't realise it as much.

Had money on him at 12-1. Thought it was a lock at the end of the season. I'm furious.

Indicative of modern football and the "need to win to be considered great".

Individual accomplishments consistently diminished because of a lack of team accomplishments.

Even if you want the award to go to the winners, in my opinion De Bruyne has had one of his worst seasons for City so I'm baffled as to why it would go to him.
I think Dias, Foden, and Gundogan have all performed better over the season than him.

So has De Bruyne though

Harry Kane is too vanilla, there’s nothing else to it.

No tattoos or stupid haircuts.

No embarrassing goal celebrations.

English.

No controversy in his personal life.

Didn’t break through as a teenager.

No supermodels or pop stars, hasn’t been on the cover of a football game and isn’t in any music videos.

He’s lacking all the criteria to win player of the year.

Just checked and the last English winner of player of the year was Rooney in 2009-2010

He's also teetotal during the footie season. Everything he does (or doesn't do) is with the sole purpose of improving as a player, a shocking thing for a professional athlete.
