Might get a bit of stick for this, but seeing Luka in a Real Madrid shirt tonight, holding his own in El Classico (albeit only for 7 or 8 minutes) made me feel rather proud. He hasnt said anything bad about us, and its easy to get carried away with abuse towards somebody who doesnt want to play for our beloved Spurs, but he served us very well, and we should savour the moments we had with this fantastic player at our club.

I for one will cheer him if we ever get to see him back here.

Well done Ratboy!!

At the end of the day I am a Spurs fan & I would rather play for Madrid than Spurs! Wish he could have played in the opening two games to say farewell tho

Luka deserves to be playing on the biggest stage of all, for the biggest football club in the World.

It's just a shame there was all this stuff happening in the background during the negotiations of his transfer - no doubt badly advised by his agents.

Yep, same here (not the gayness ;) ) but hope he does well there. Nice little cameo tonight and unlucky not to break his duck.

Agree. I got excited everytime he was on the ball. Like when I watch him play for Croatia.

But can we stop this stupid "Ratboy" nickname. His name is Luka. Just Luka.

I am proud of him to a certain extent. But I believe it would have been much more so if he had handled himself better last summer.

Kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth.

To be honest they can have him, we're miles ahead of Real anyway. Luka didn't even make our bench for the last 2 matches...

Best of luck, you ugly ****! :)

I felt proud for him, even though he would undoubtedly have been a success if he had not been with us, I feel like we can take some credit for him being the player he is. I would absolutely love for him to play a big part in knocking chelsea, arsenal, man u or man city out of the champions league.

Thing is, we gotta lose this mentality of being proud of our guys going to superior clubs, and become fixated on becoming as good as the clubs these guys want to go to. Mentality.

This
He didn't even necessarily have to play, just not jerk us around and try and force us to accept a low-ball offer two summers running.
