Phwoar what a hit.

Right now Poland are through on having fewer yellow cards than Mexico. 4 to 7.
Just read the points system.

If Poland gets a straight red card, Mexico will go past them on fair play. Please football gods.

If both games end now, tiebreaker for Poland/Mexico might come down to fair play record

5. Fair play record: If the teams still can’t be separated, then the fair play record is looked at. Each team is given a ‘conduct score’, wherein a point is deducted for each yellow card they receive, two points for a red card received after two bookings and four points for a straight red. The team with a lower score progresses into the knockout round. At the 2018 World Cup, Japan edged out Senegal based on this rule. The two teams could not be separated on any of the above criteria. Japan’s fair play score of -4 was better than Senegal’s, who tallied -6.

Fair play points in all group matches (only one deduction can be applied to a player in a single match):
  • Yellow card: −1 point;
  • Indirect red card (second yellow card): −3 points;
  • Direct red card: −4 points;
  • Yellow card and direct red card: −5 points;
And if they're tried on disciplinary points as well they basically flip a coin to decide it.

Romero has been gash today tbh. Don’t know why he’s playing. Keeps getting bodied by Lewandowski needlessly.

What happens if both are equal on yellow and red cards?

I would have thought head to head comes at some point.

Basically what needs to happen for it to be decided out of a hat/alphabetical order

Yes the last tiebreaker is a drawing of lots and if yellow/red cards are equal that's what happens.

Head to head has already been discarded as their game ended 0-0.

Poland really sitting and hoping a two goal loss will be enough, just praying Mexico doesn’t score.
