Goal of the Season poll

Some good choices here, but surprised only one goal from Kane on the list.

I was torn between Dier's goal in the opener and Kane's header against Arsenal.

I liked Lamela's goal against Burnley more than his rabona.

My goal of the year was Kane's at Anfield. The build up between Lamela and Eriksen, and Kane's first touch...it was all pure class.

1. Lamela's rabona.
2. Townsend's solo goal vs Swansea.
3. Kane's header vs Arsenal (more for meaning, though it was a very good header).
4. Eriksen's free kick.
5. Chadli's volley.

Can we have Kane's second goal Vs Chelsea in list please.
IMO, that swivel turn , pause, then hit between Cahill's leg into far corner was the moment when it hit me, Kane is a world class finisher.

Lamela's Rabona is a rare variety goal ,but Kane's 2nd Vs Chelsea was a key goal with respect to his development & gave us a glimpse of what the lad can do

Till that game, there were doubters whether Kane can up his game against big teams. He made the 1st on his own & 2nd sealed us a emphatic victory. He then carried it to Arse game & rest of the season.

The fact that Kane was being booed from the first whistle also made it better.

From the list, probably:

Lamelas Rabona, for the audacity and rarity.

Kanes header for everything it encompassed.

Surely the Goal of the Year is determined by the actual goal, and not by consequences.

Take Matt Phillips's goal for QPR- absolutely meaningless but still an amazing goal.

I agree with you, but also there must be an effect in regards to context-sometimes.

Ricky Villa's 'goal' is instead scored against Burnley in a meaningless 4-1 defeat in a lower mid table affair...is that goal still viewed as greatness and revered?

Lamela's Rabona was a stunning piece of skill, but I think you have to factor in that it was against a pub team. Still a brilliant goal.

I voted for Kane's late winner against Arsenal. Just an iconic moment for so many reasons.

Lamela's rabona left me gobsmacked. Genuine disbelief. Amazing skill and audacity.
