When you say 'the Spirit', you mean "let's blindly enthuse over potential incomings, even if I don't feel it's likely"

Look, I would be delighted to get both players - as far as I can tell, they're both great. But we, alongside many other European teams (including Chelsea, Inter, City etc.) are looking for CBs.

Moreover
- it may well be that Bremer arriving at Inter would be a condition of Bastoni leaving
- Chelsea and City may be after Bastoni, which, if we're honest, materially lowers the likelihood of us getting him

So while I can understand why people are discussing the hypotheticals of getting them both, my own perspective is it's unlikely to happen
I am not expecting us to get both but I damn well hope we are trying to. Aim high.

I think absolutely we should do that, you struggle to slightly turn your head these days without some horrific news, I think being delusional about football transfers to the point that it makes us euphoric is fantastic escapism. I think we should let our imaginations run wild. The problem comes when people then allow themselves to get angry when their fantasies don't become reality, I think dream big and then have a laugh about how wildly optimistic we were when reality sets in except this season that reality is going to still be pretty damn fantastic by all accounts even if it doesn't match our lofty delusions

Yeah it kinda feels better than pissing over peoples cornflakes because of a belief that one opinion is somehow more important than another, just because it is more “realistic”.

Anyone else keep reading this a Bremner (as in Rory)?

Alfredo Pedulla is one of the worst sources on the internet. Why do we have to go through this every window....

I think we need this guy on top of an LCB. My top target would be Bastoni, but with the amount of time injured Romero and Dier had out last season, we need someone at their levels to rotate and slot straight in.
Personally I think Bremer is better than Dier, but both Dier and Bremer with injuries and rotation due to the amount of games we will be playing, would roughly play the same amount.

Sanchez, Rodon or Tanganga covering for when Romero or Dier are out injured, suspended or rotated does not give me a feeling we would have a defence to cover on all fronts.
