Maybe. Just pass the problem onto next season when Udogie, Sarr, and others are over 21. We have a big problem with our homegrown players quantum.

I agree we do have an issue but I think that's part of the reason we're looking at Brennan Johnson as a squad option.

And there lies the problem paying £50m for a £20m player as well as an inflated salary for 6/7 star player.
So in your view we shouldn’t sign non-homegrown players as we have too many but shouldn’t sign homegrown players because they are overpriced?

Perisic and Dier would be out of contract though. It's always going to be something we will need to juggle each year. We definitely need to improve the quality of our homegrown players though.

This is (another reason) why the Phillips pick up and Devine before him are so crucial. It's not immediate but will allow us to organically dig out of this hole by bringing in one or two a year with such promise.

If Richy is injured, whether Kane stays or not we need any other striker. If we can get him for good money we could at least keep him til Jan and loan as needed after then.

Well, let's get this deal done as soon as possible. Knowing our luck, Richy will need surgery that will keep him out for 3 months.

If Kane goes and we do bring this lad in, what a ridiculous jump it'll be.

Barely two years at first team level and gets a move to Spurs as starting replacement for their record goalscorer (assuming Richy is injured).

No pressure kid.
