such terrible news, especially as it seems news of his leukaemia came from nowhere.

Awful news.
He seemed to know how to push players to their max while still being a nice guy.

fulminant leukaemia according to reports.
As I mentioned above this can be very rapid and fatal. I don't thionk anything could have been done as the prognosis is very poor if I'm correct.

"I think he might have had a type of Acute promyelocytic leukaemia, a malignant subtype of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

This can be extremely rapid with death from bleeding, infection, etc. from my understanding".

Terrible news for his family.

The team and staff must have known about this for the last couple of games. Can’t have been easy for anyone.

He must have been some guy. The amount of tributes he has had from players and around Europe from different clubs is quite amazing.
