I think he might have had a type of Acute promyelocytic leukaemia, a malignant subtype of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

This can be extremely rapid with death from bleeding, infection, etc. from my understanding.

Terrible news for his family.

61 is very young especially for someone who presumably kept very fit and healthy all their life.

Horrible. Worked them hard but they still loved him, which is a sign of a top coach. RIP.
