It's a shame that our transfer strategy has apparently reverted back to signing a bunch of rag-tags and cheap misfits to plug holes. No long term targets, no investment. Purely adding filler to the squad with whoever happens to be available at the time.

It's crazy how quickly our situation has changed, all because of a couple of badly executed windows. So much hope and excitement around the club, now it's very much the opposite. I hope we can turn it around but some of our rumoured signings don't provide much optimism.

For the record, he's highly rated, talented, young CM. He's fallen out with the head coach which is why they're looking to loan him out for 18 months.

He's not what we need exactly but with Sissoko out, it wouldn't hurt to bring him in on loan.

That's not even the worrying thing though IMO, I mean we could be looking for players in the right positions for a start. The need for a DM should be seen as important as the need for what a Kane replacement allegedly is.

We're only 11 days in but I already have so much frustration with this club at the moment and it makes it even worse that I currently hate watching us 'play' if you can call it that.

I know we run a tight ship and don't have the money that other top teams have etc etc but it still makes my blood boil a bit where no matter the situation, we never seem to say how much we need to build on the squad and the message is always that we're happy with what we have yet other teams are vocal about the need for improvements and additions.

The way I see it is that 99% of teams have at least one protective midfielder, who can sit back, break up play and distribute. We don't have one, Wanyama aside, who's as knackered as most of our midfield. And he can't pass the ball efficiently. There are plenty of them out there who can.

I don’t think Jorge Mendes is his agent. POSITIONUMBER is listed as his agency on Transfermarkt...

anyways.. Gedson is a talented player and he could possibly be Sissoko’s replacement in time. I hope we goes for him and snag him right under the Spammers nose

I don't know much about this guy, but as some has said with Sissoko out and with Ndombele's fitness issues this might not be a bad idea. Ndombele should play every game he is fit to play, but with occuring problems a replacement who can do kind of the same thing even though not to the same extant would be welcome. A central midfielder with good technique who can break lines and is a good passer. Has played in the role behind the striker as well so can fill in for Dele too. I like it, even more it it's an 18 month-loan with option.

I see our depth chart look something like this if we play the 4-2-3-1 Mourinho seem to be wanting to develop. Wanyama sold, and Skipp sent on loan:

CDM: Dier (I rather a new more mobile DM), Winks.
B2B: Ndombele, Gedson, Sissoko.
RAM: Lo Celso, Lamela, (Sissoko).
CAM: Dele, (Lo Celso, Gedson).
LW: Son, Lucas.

Seems opportunistic but we absolutely need midfield cover with Tanguy regularly injured and sissoko having one working knee. Time to back him.
