You can tag anyone you like - doesn’t mean the info is genuine or not .
Yeah, I just don't recall seeing the club tagged too often in tweets (proposing news regarding Spurs) posted on here. I may be mistaken and every Tom, Dick and Hairy Ballsacks is doing it and I just haven't noticed.

Interesting.
Out of interest, and as a non Twitter user, do many of the chancers with dodgy info tag @spursofficial?
Would tagging the club lend a bit more credence to the fact that this may be good info, or does every journo and "itk" on Twitter do it?
In the case of this journo, take his info as extremely reliable. He's very well connected.

“Fernando is the definition of a box-to-box midfielder. Think Pogba, Yaya Toure, Mousa Dembele.
He is unstoppable with the ball at his feet, able to beat players in the middle of the park due to a combination of close control and power.
Like Pogba, Fernandes can instantly turn defence into attack thanks to his electrifying pace and dribbling technique.
Plus, the youngster packs a ferocious strike, making him a serious threat from distance.”

I'm not sure where Sissoko fits. He has been playing cm due to injuries and poor form, but Jose has said he isn't a cm.

I hope Jose sees this guy as a cm option

Would have to assume this is a player Jose actually wants rather than a player that's being "forced on him" for want of a better phrase, being Portuguese and a Mendes player. He must have a plan for him in that case.

Benfica are the club that let players such as Bernardo Silva, Cancelo, Jiminez and Jovic leave for small fees because they didn't work out. How people are writing this kid off at a young age is baffling me!

He may not be a traditional defensive midfielder but he appears to be strong, fast, athletic (much like Sissoko) and an aggressive tackler, but clearly comfortable on the ball and a talented passer and runner. That’s basically how I remember Patrick Vieira. I actually think that if they’re both drilled on defensive shape and off the ball movement, he’s the sort of player who’d complement Ndombele’s style. I’ve been insisting we need a DM mainly on the basic that it would allow Ndombele to be a full playmaker, but perhaps a true pivot doesn’t have to be about a more attacking and more defensive player, but instead about two players who play in a coordinated way which unlocks puzzles on the pitch.

Yet they are letting him go on loan?

There is still like 2% of me that feels like this story will end in tragedy, with us finding out that there is no player named Gedson Fernandes. It came from absolutely nowhere in a hurry and doesn't even make that much sense.

Did a little research... he was a full time starter for them in 18/19 then they got a new coach, he changed the system from a 4-3-3 where Gedson started as a b2b player, to a 4-2-3-1 and basically stopped playing Gedson altogether.

Now the weird thing is we don't play a 4-3-3 either. But as a loan/Sissoko replacement this transfer seems good in a vacuum, with our other issues and thinking Winks could play a similar role I don't really get it as much.

I don't really know what we play anymore. I feel that Jose has been trying to see what fits with what he has at his disposal right now. Hard to predict what he is planning for the future. But i wouldn't be surprised if he is considering a highly fluid 3 at the back model. Something that can very quickly shift from a 532 to a 352 to a 325. I felt like we saw a hint of that on Saturday. Of course i could be very wrong, and all he was doing on Saturday was setting up a pragmatic formation based on not conceding.
Very interested to see what he's thinking long term. As i don't believe we've seen much of that yet.
