Dismissing the idea of a manager for being English would be equally idiotic
As a single appointment I would completely agree. You can't make assumptions.

But I don't think that's what people are doing, I think they have been badly burnt by three coaches who happen to come from the same country and it's as simple as that.

If you’re suggesting that Conceicao and Fonseca are identical in style and ethos to firstly each other, and secondly to all of our previous Portuguese managers, on the basis that they are all Portuguese, then you’re an ill-informed idiot at best.
I'm saying I don't want any portugese managers because there's not a single one of them who IMO fits and/or is good enough for Spurs.
But i'll leave you to it getting baited by everyone again today, lol.

Who's buzzing for the next manager thread to be opened again?

Was at the game yesterday. Never seen it so toxic. People booing like mad, 60 year old geezers fist fighting, chanting Levy Out. Less goals than Burnley and Newcastle this season. Needs to go and fast.

I'd rather Potter than Conte (although certainly would be happy with the latter)

Just think Potter is a man you'd back for the long long term and could build successful foundations for years to come.

Agree ?

I know it's unlikely potter will leave mid season...but what other club realistically could he go to...man city, Liverpool, Chelsea, man utd would not take him...that's leaves us - and if this opportunity presents itself even mid season - it's a massive opportunity - one which he might not get anytime again soon.

I'm a few pages back. But, had to comment on this. How are we back to "Levy HAS to get this right"?! He HAD to get in right after he sacked Poch and then again after Jose.
20 years from now. spurs 40 years without a trophy, just sacked their 65th manager, Levy has to get this right….

For me Conte you stand a better chance of actually winning something but he is outspoken, potter on the other hand probably won't challenge levy and although the football maybe better on the eye I think he is similar to poch in that he won't deliver Conte will imo.

If you want Potter. You convince him with guarantees as well as set performance indicators.

For example, he's given time, he's allowed to rule over the squad and provide an assessment on who should stay and go, Paratici gets players he wants or can at least work with.

Basically we have to sell this project to him and not the other way around.

I just don't think Levy will see it like that, they'll want him to sell himself to them.

You can't operate that way with the best coaches. Their track record/performance speaks for itself

Comes in and sees people discussing who they would prefer, Conte or potter. Jesus lads don't do it to yourselves, you're going to be very disappointed when we appoint a 3rd rate manager

Fuck sake how long does it take to get sacked? Anytime it’s happened to me it’s usually taken about 25 seconds ???

I don’t see Potter as the right choice in this situation, in my opinion it could be too much to soon. I don’t think Conte is the long term approach but he’s exactly what we need, experienced, bullish, with the right mentality, are we going to get him? I very much doubt it but we need a coach that can turn things around almost immediately, I fear we would break Potter in our current situation.
