Fuck sake how long does it take to get sacked? Anytime it’s happened to me it’s usually taken about 25 seconds ???
I imagine it’s ”you‘re sacked…” followed by
“then you owe me 8m” countered by
”you are having a laugh… we want our wages back…”
”seven mil, nine hundred thousand…”
and so on...

I'll be surprised if he goes today, when has Levy ever acted so decisively? This'll drag on, and then the manager search will drag on, again.

Another 4k thread in the making?

Seems like it. If it hasn’t happened now after the news leaking earlier it’s not going to happen today. Maybe they’re waiting for the super Sunday to end.

I don’t see Potter as the right choice in this situation, in my opinion it could be too much to soon. I don’t think Conte is the long term approach but he’s exactly what we need, experienced, bullish, with the right mentality, are we going to get him? I very much doubt it but we need a coach that can turn things around almost immediately, I fear we would break Potter in our current situation.
I can see Conte getting a reaction from our players because of his passionate nature, I can't see them responding to potter if I'm honest it would be a similar situation to recent times.

To be fair mate we've had three Portuguese coaches in the last 10 year's and they've all been poor or bad appointments, you can't say people are saying this because it's a slant on a nation. It's just that we've had three coaches from one country and they've all sucked. It's natural to assume the next will be no different.

If the last three coaches had been English and all been crap people would be saying we need to get someone from the continent or something.
It’s called prejudice no matter how you try and rationalise and gentrify it.

Oh and it’s very much learned behaviour and not “natural” at all imo…

Probably because Nuno was never intended to last longer than this season imo

I think if he lasts that long he'd have done pretty well.

If Levy/Fabio are looking at the next four or five games they'll probably see them as being eminently winnable and will probably want to give Nuno a chance to see how we fare with those, before making the decision to give him the chop.

Of course, in the meantime, they'll be getting the lie of the land with some other potentials just in case everything turns to even greater shit. pre-CHristmas.

What about that weird fucker in the England job? He's sitting around doing nothing and is a bit of a loser, so I'm sure he'd fit in nicely AND be able to do both jobs at once.

Okay, Brits, please educate this Yank: Which news sources *are* reputable? All I see is comments like "lol if THEY say it THE OPPOSITE is true."

Mirror? Guardian? Sun? Who are we to trust? (THIS IS A SERIOUS INQUIRY)

I don’t think any game is winnable at the moment. No time for prevarication or delay- we have to move now

Maybe.

I think Potter would work wonders with our attacking players. I believe it is possible to get something really good out of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Kane and Son.

We need someone who is positive and has experience of the English game. I think Potter is the perfect choice.

But if he wants to work with our board or walk out on Brighton midseason and likely become a villain to them I am not so sure.

I’m not necessarily going to have the pitchforks out for the board if they don’t sack him tonight. We cannot afford a repeat of the summer, imagine if we had a protracted managerial search while the season was ongoing, we’d be dragged into a relegation battle. The new man has to be sorted before Nuno goes IMO.

I may be mistaken but I believe it’s the case that caretaker managers are outlawed in La Liga and a permanent appointment must be made within two weeks of the previous manager’s sacking. If so, we’ll know by the international break whether Barca has brought in Gallardo or whether we have a free hit at him. I can see some sense in holding off until then, which gives us the two week break to get the next manager sorted.

This appointment is absolutely massive for the club and we can’t afford to make it hastily, although we also cannot afford to drag it out. We have to be decisive but it may be strategically wise to survey the landscape between now and the Everton match and then strike.
