Okay, Brits, please educate this Yank: Which news sources *are* reputable? All I see is comments like "lol if THEY say it THE OPPOSITE is true."

Mirror? Guardian? Sun? Who are we to trust? (THIS IS A SERIOUS INQUIRY)
The broadsheets have a better reputation historically for the veracity of their stories but their accuracy rate is only about 33%, the tabloids are generally lower. Someone cleverer than me will dig out a league table of accuracy from somewhere.

EDIT: The Grauniad comes in top with 39% https://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/sources/newspapers

I’m not necessarily going to have the pitchforks out for the board if they don’t sack him tonight. We cannot afford a repeat of the summer, imagine if we had a protracted managerial search while the season was ongoing, we’d be dragged into a relegation battle. The new man has to be sorted before Nuno goes IMO.

I may be mistaken but I believe it’s the case that caretaker managers are outlawed in La Liga and a permanent appointment must be made within two weeks of the previous manager’s sacking. If so, we’ll know by the international break whether Barca has brought in Gallardo or whether we have a free hit at him. I can see some sense in holding off until then, which gives us the two week break to get the next manager sorted.

This appointment is absolutely massive for the club and we can’t afford to make it hastily, although we also cannot afford to drag it out. We have to be decisive but it may be strategically wise to survey the landscape between now and the Everton match and then strike.
If they had any sense they would have been looking for the past few weeks as it has been evident where this was heading.

I would probably look to individual journalists over their publication.

Matt Law has called a fair few things right recently. I seem to remember Darren Lewis at the Mirror used to be pretty reliable with Spurs news, no idea if that is still the case.

Our own ITK is likely to be as reliable as any.

Looking, yes, but hypothetically if they’ve set their sights on Gallardo we will know more about his availability by the international break than we do today, with Barca still vacant.

It would be a disaster if we had a repeat of the Nagelsmann debacle, where we sacked the manager and had eyed up a young impresario only for him to be hired by one of the European giants.

I’m speculating massively here but Gallardo is the man for me. He suits us perfectly, he’s out of contract in six weeks, and we’ll know if we have a free hit at him following the Everton match. I’m content to wait for another 10 days if it means he gets the job.

lewis has been off the mark for a few years.

in terms of reliable journos for spurs specific news, I'd look at

Alasdair Gold
Dan Kilpatrick
Jonathan Veal
Jack Pitt-Brooke

In terms of reliable journos for all news with sources at our club, I'd look at

Simon Stone
David Ornstein
Matt Law
Gianluca Di Marzio
Fabrizio Romano

Those 9 are typically clued up

Chief reporters from big international publications (RMC, Lequipe, BILD, etc.) are also fairly reliable

I feel for Nuno, he shouldn't have been appointed in the 1st place and the blame for that lay at 1 door.

Also he faced a horrific set of circumstances from day 1 from unsettled players to ridiculous International scheduling.

You need an element of timing and luck in football and he received neither.

Every appointment carries a risk but I don't know much about him like you do to form an opinion.
I would rather go for Conte simply because he turns under performing clubs around on more than one occasion that for me says he suits us.

There’s absolutely no upside for Nuno to take training tomorrow, he knows it, players know it, everyone knows he’s going. Needs to be done tonight or the morning

Different strokes for different folks and all but I'd take our own jj, trix and Herc over all of them. Reporters report what has happened after its happened.. Not one of them in them lists has a heads up. Just my opinion tho.

For all we know he might be sacked already, but they would never announce it on Sunday.
