Thought i'd give this a go as there's been a lot of talk over certain keepers but none that we seem to have been heavily linked with, so on our part (ie us on the forums) its all kinda guess work and wish lists..

TBH I haven't seen anything other than youtube vids of Adler, Neuer or Stekelenberg (sp?), and have only seen snippets of Coupet, Boruc, Hart and Kameni for either club or country.. All of whom people have mentioned are possible targets of ours...

I'm gonna throw another name into the hat tho, as he stood out for me against the Germans last night, and thats Jurgen Macho of Austria ( & AEK Athens)... I thought he was very aware, had control of his area, caught and punched well, good shot stopper, quick decisions etc..And he's also a big agile guy, but I was impressed...
He was at Chelsea for a while and has been very unlucky with injuries it seems, but has played more in the last year than throughout most of his career.. Maybe not a 1st choice, but certainly a good 2nd choice, i believe he's 30, so right age too.

Anyone else people would like to put forward?

I only remember him being at Sunderland for a while and never thought that much of him then. I would like to think Spurs could do better than him.

For me, it's out of:

Gomes

or

Boruc

Yeah, I've now made sigs for either in case we get to the stage where it looks like we'll be signing either of them

Surely you need to get rid of those PSV and Celtic badges first though.

I still have the Photoshop file. The badges (and colour scheme's) could quite easily be changed once they'd signed :)

Boruc would be my #1. He smashed up the Poland dressing room he care so much after the Austria game. brillaint keeper on evidence and a totally commited and passionate dude too.

how could anyone really want Gomez. he's a clown. rather have robbo. he makes msitakes but not through arrogance and stupidy. i can take occasional lapses of ability but not selfish and reckless moments. It's why i hate Clownbonda so much, all the attributes to be very good but his attitude and fucking about on the pitch lets him down.
Everytime Gomez makes a mistake through his twattishness i'd take it as a personnal insult to me and my hard earned entrance money and emotional commitment to tottenham hotspur.

Gomes (let's beat this early and not have another 'Mendez' situation on our hands ) isn't a clown at all, nor does he have a bad attitude. He's easily as good as Boruc in my eyes, and probably makes less mistakes than Boruc too :?

Not to mention the 'Zakora' situation!

Boruc would be great. Although one poster on here (sorry mate I've forgotten your name) is all about Adler, seems very knowledgable and has got me quite excited about him.

Adler, Boruc or Neuer would be awesome.

I'll be happy as long as we don't sign Butt Erf Ingas or Throe DeLeggs

I only saw Gomes in our games with PSV this season, but he strikes me as one of those flambouyant showman goalies. I don't like that. I want a solid, dependable keeper and from what I've seen of Boruc, he looks superb. Don't see Strachan letting him go without a fight though.

you've not seen either of them much then have you. Boruc is really safe and Gomes takes so many risks. Even if you hadn't seen him in PSV game in the dutch league like i have, you have no excuse for this rubbish post if you'd seen both the UEFA cup legs. Terrible on Crosses, truely terrible decision making and was lucky not only to keep the score down in the second leg but lucky either himself or his CB wasn't taken out the ground in an ambulance.

I like to call him Gomez but now you've corrected me i realize i prefer Gnomes.

I've seen enough of Gomes to like him a lot. He's far from rubbish on crosses. He punches (occasionally flaps) at crosses, but in my opinion that's a billion times better than a keeper who'll stay on his line and not come for anything. His reflexes are out of this World, and he's always impressed me.

Boruc, who I've seen even more of than I have Gomes, is also a very good keeper, but don't for a second think he's immune to mistakes. The 3-2 defeat against Hib's earlier in the season was a prime example of this. He was at fault for both Fletcher's and Shield's goal's. That said, he's a class keeper (as is Gomes :)), and I would be more than happy to have either at the Lane.

Yes, have to say Macho didn't look bad at all last night, but can't say anything according to one game. My list contains Boruc, Gomes, Gordon and Hart.

Are any of the keepers being mentioned better than Robbo 2 years ago?

Don't know about that, but better than Robbo nowadays. Today's Robbo is just a shadow of what he was back in Leeds and during his first 2 years for us.

It's has to be DeadwoodDem you're talking about. Gotta say I agree with him about Adler too.. thou there is no ITK about him yet thou.. hopefully that might mean he's another Modric..
