I think if Levy was still running the football side of the club he'd get rid of Conte now, but I'm not sure Paratici will act as swiftly. He's Paratici's man and I think he still believes in him.

The Levy needs to do what he gets accused of anyway - and overrule Paratici.

On that note - sack him too while he’s at it, or at least put him on gardening leave until his appeal fails.

I was watching the highlights of this make it break match and one thing stood out for me, we just didn't seem to want it. There was no fight, yet we were only 1-0 down.

If we compare that to that night in Amsterdam and literally being down and out, yet the players found something extra to go and keep fighting. Forget the result, just the fact they fought even though they were in horrible form. That fight and passion just isn't there at the moment. The manager has to find it, it's literally his job.
I think (!) the team overthinks. Caution, tentativeness, lack of confidence/fluidity/capacity to surprise are the symptoms. An analogy is to theatrical performance that I have taught for many years. When actors over think they tend to be wooden and self conscious. We see them trying to act out a role rather than 'be' that role. They improve by relaxing, taking risks, committing to those risks and not getting held back by fear of The Mistake. I cannot help but feel this is down to the manager/'director'.

I can see him.ending up at Newcastle if / when they qualify for the CL, being bought the players he wants - because they'll spend - and winning the PL again

It is the Spurs way
I hope he does end up there at some point - spend an absolute fortune, and fail miserably once again:

prove that it’s him and his shit football that is the problem, and not the club.

Here’s an idea. We could have moved Davies to CB (his passing and crossing had been beyond atrocious all evening so pushing him up was a waste of time anyway) then put Danjuma on the left to get those crosses in. Sure we might concede but that doesn’t matter. If we could make a sub that made it 20% more likely we would score but 50% more likely they would it would still have been worth doing. 0-0 was worth nothing to us
Could have taken Son off, as they were playing so deep, he had no space to run into. But realistically that would have been booed too, because fans did not accept that 99% of the time, a forward is subbed off when a team goes down to 10.

So, to avoid the boos, conte could have subbed Davies off for Sanchez and have Richarlison play as a LWB. I think he could have done a good job, but would he have complied?

The substitution took so long - Milan made a sub while conte was calculating. A poster earlier said Kane was indicating Kulu should not be subbed off. And that certainly raises the stakes. But it does not explain the delay.

Got to be kidding

I would have thought the chances of top 4 increase with a new manager in this instance.
He is leaving in four months so pull the plaster off now and change the mood for a push through the end of the season.
They should have been planning for this since the turn of the year.

Melissa Reddy on SSN seems to have been briefed slightly differently on this video. ”spurs expect him to be in the dugout on Saturday but are realistic things can change quickly in football”. We are negotiating with someone surely?

I'm still Conte in.
Why? Is it because of the shit brand of football? Or the strange subs or line ups? Or his stubbornness? No.
It's because he represents for me the last chance saloon. If we can't get our house in order with this guy we never will.
But here we are, demanding Levy sacks Conte, and all the while most of us know what the real problem is.
Some here have even gone personal, accusing Conte of disrespect.
He is a decent man. All he has done is tell everyone some home truths. But for some reason people overlook that and let the real culprit off the hook again.

Well hopefully we're putting out the feelers to see what options we have. If someone like Enrique is actually keen for the job and he's the man we want then maybe we pull the trigger now, but if not then maybe best to wait until the summer and assess our options. Like, there's no way we can get De Zerbi until the summer at the earliest if he's the one we want.

Even if it's a miserable watch for fans, I'm not absolutely convinced replacing Conte with Ryan Mason for 12 games at the cost of 5 million quid or whatever is really going to give us a better chance at top-4. The football would be more positive and we'd have more fun, but I'm not sure it would actually improve our points tally at the end of the season (unless the players are completely done with Conte after last night).
