That is just mad reasoning isn’t it ?‍♂️ oh Levy ? I mean yea Ten Haag has nothing on the incredible charisma of Nuno ? and Conte isn’t exactly all love and cuddles either.

Says it all that, not hiring a manager who’d have been a far better fit for us and gets his teams playing beautifully sexy football but in Levy’s opinion he ‘lacks charisma’, maybe Levy got Ten Haag to tell his best A level story and it just didn’t live up to the billing ?
Makes you wonder if he was interviewing for a coach or a chat show host.

Quite simply it's all irrelevant 3-4-3 or 4-3-3, Conte or Pochettino, Investment no investment. Until Levy fucks off we will not move forward, he is just too involved in things he doesn't understand and is nothing more than a millstone around the clubs neck when it comes to what happens on the pitch.
Sometimes feel like we should have a ‘sad’ emoticon to choose. As this is a home truth that I agree with, and winner and like. But how i really want to react is: ?

Narratives are funny things aren't they. 5 months ago most were saying that spending £70m or whatever it was on a rotation option was great. Getting a beast of a CM that we have all admired from afar. Bringing in an experienced WB who has won things on big wages. Small steps but steps in the right direction. We were showing ambition.

Now it's lack of ambition/not backing Conte. The mind boggles.
With all due respect its looking like the 'most' were wrong.

There were however, quite a number including myself that said the window wasn't anywhere near good enough.

I didn't then and I do not now care for excuses. The summer window HAD to be a 10/10 window for this situation to work. It had to be a perfect window. A window on steroids.

That said good work was done, albeit some iffy loans out. I mean anybody that thought the Winks move was a good one needs to give their head a wobble.

But the world class CBs that were hotly tipped to come in, not just by respected journos but also by our own itks, never materialised.

Again. I don't care for excuses. It HAD to happen.

I mean not bringing in a RWB and Kulu alternative?

There were plenty who warned.

So because I prefer to being entertained than just winning I should just go and watch another club and not enjoy all the facets and rivalry that add to that entertainment? You do realise thats a little insulting and dismissive towards me having a differing viewpoint to you. By all means have your opinion and if just getting 3 points by hook or by crook is your bag then more power to you.

I don't quite grasp exactly what you're saying here? You would go support another team who are the best if you were not a spurs supporter or if your many focus was not winning?

Apologies for my remarks. Everyone supports Tottenham for various reasons and want different things and yours are just as valid as mine. My posts are purely my opinion.

If I wasn't a Spurs fan and wasn't a fan of another club, I would probably just watch whatever team who played the best football as I wouldn't have any reason to focus on one team.

Square pegs round holes approach as usual.

Same as when Poch wanted Mane and Winjaldium and he got Sissoko.

AVB wanted Moutiniho and he got Holtby

Redknapp wanted Cahill and Suraez and he got Nelsen & Saha

It’s just rinse and repeat over and over and over.

Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

We’ll Levy keeps hiring managers who are a bad fit and then equipping them with tools they don’t want and that don’t fit their needs and expects it all to work out and shock it never does.

You fuggin keep Holtby’s name out ya damn mouth

I'm sorry, but the window was good. It didn't need to be an almost impossible to achieve 10/10 window. If Bissouma was the player we expected, Richy stayed fit, and Son's form didn't fall off a cliff then we'd be having a very different conversation right now.

This a millions times, the rest of the discussion is just wallpaper. If Levy stays we will be having the same conversations in 10 years time. The body of evidence is overwhelming at this point, under his stewardship we have won nothing. Managers come and go but he remains and the same problems remain over and over. It simply doesn’t matter who the manager is.

That Levy was gifted Kane a world class striker, at the hardest position to find and fill in football, yet still manages to fuck it all up tells you all you need to know about how incompetent he is when it comes to football matters. He is soon not going to have Kane to help paper over the cracks.

If we are sticking with Levy we will have to except our ceiling is 6-7 probably, especially without Kane and Newcastles money on the way.

Meanwhile we're halfway through January with no signings, maybe if we'd already got in a couple of players conte wants we could have had a different result yesterday.

Major gripe I have with Conte and the club is, lack of communication on his extension or new contract.

Why would players give their all, if they know Conte is not long term ?

Because Conte isnt going to commit if hes not backed. It all leads back to Levy.

I agree, however, the vibe I get from Conte is that he is just gonna see out the contract, now we are in a TW so what do we do? chicken and egg situation again its just a mess
You invest in players that could play either system.

A top quality centre back for instance is not a Conte only specialist type player.

You may well be right, he's a serial winner, and well, we are serial Spursy.
I dont actually think it's hugely helpful for us to use that term! We are a successful, wealthy and very famous club.

I'm proud to support spurs. My only ask is that we play the football that we have always endeavoured to play.

You seem to be implying that our inherent "spursyness" makes us not good enough for the amazing Conte. Well, perhaps he should get more out of the players he has been given? Or show some tactical acumen and flexibility? Instead of playing a formation that is not only mindnumbingly boring and passive but also completely ineffectual against all but the worst teams!

The world and his uncle can see that the 343 DOES NOT WORK! There are numerous reasons why that is the case. But Mr Antonio "I can walk on water" Conte seemingly cannot see it!

He IS the wrong fit for our club as I have been saying for almost a year now.

There are clearly issues with the ownership and player recruitment, but let's not hide behind the fact the last 3 managers have been completely wrong for us.

I never said it wasn't a good window.

I said it wasn't good enough.

The glaring issues we knew in the summer weren't addressed.

That is now part of the reason we find ourselves in the situation we are in.

This "vibe" - how exactly are you reading it? Can it be done over TV, or is it best done in person?

Thanks for the apology, you probably didn't mean it to come across as it did and its appreciated.

I relate to you on that, I spend a lot of time in Argentina and support Boca because of this exact reason. Well that and my mate would string me up if it were River! lol

The window had some good aspects. Though £80m net spend is poor for a club of our size and we’re still playing catch up from previous bad business and 518 days without a signing. To do nothing proper in the CB area was foolish - how many years are you going to wait for Gvardiol/Bastoni or Skriniar just to be turned down? Spence I have no words. As pointless as Gedson.

I don't follow Spurs because I expect to win trophies every year (or ever!) I support them because I was always attracted to the style of football. For the last three years the football has been bloody awful to watch. It really has become a chore to watch my team, and I hate that. So... for that reason...

Conte Out.
Absolutely agree - the football is so passive and safety first. That's not the way Spurs should play and we were given a lesson by Arsenal where traditionally they have been the boring side

Conte doesn't seem to have any answers or flexibility and I struggle to understand why
