I thought it was a game we missed Bissouma. His energy, ability to keep possession and protect the ball, and in general his overall aggression in CM would have been ideal. Looking forward to having him back.

Stating the bleedin obvious I know but we need to get all of our first teamers back and play the same XI week after week to get that cohesion, understanding and fluidity back that we had in the first 10 games of the season. That was the foundation of our success and it’s completely gone. Once that’s back we’ll be able to transition in the odd change to the starting XI without performances dropping off a cliff.

Ange made the right calls at HT against Brentford and it paid dividends.

Today he made the wrong calls and tinkered far too much late on which helped conspire a late equaliser for Everton.

Rather than bringing on Dragusin and 3 at the back in which we look hopeless, he really needed to take off Udogie for Davies for better balance and some experienced know how in seeing these tricky away games out.

Game management has been lacking for quite some time.

yeah, Davies is who I wanted

Everton missed key players too. We should still have won this game. Poor result but have to learn. At least Brighton come to play so we should be better next weekend. Not sure we will have games like these last 2 too often now. A lot more teams like to play a bit.

Two poor goals conceded today as we did against Brentford and the knives are out for Ange's methods, style of play , substitutions & team selection. What a fickle lot you are.

We desperately miss the ability to win free kicks further up the pitch to offer some respite, slow the game down and break up the oppositions rhythm.

Kane was an absolute master at this and whilst it’s harsh to be critical on Richarlison after his two brilliant goals, this is an element to his game he needs to improve on as that centre forward.

Wide players were fairly hopeless today - ineffective in attack and lacklustre in helping in the defence out.

It was a frustrating performance and really disappointing to concede so late but a bit of perspective is needed too.

Everton made it difficult for us. They are by no means a walkover: they’ve lost just once in their last five league matches at home - and that was v City. In the last 5 league matches at Goodison they have beaten Newcastle and Chelsea relatively comfortably and drew with Villa. Without their points deduction they’d be mid table, just three points off the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea and Brighton.

Yeah we should and need to do better but we were playing a difficult to beat, well organised team and we are still missing some key players whilst several other key players look half fit.

Once again it was disappointing to concede so late and generally play so poorly, but a point is not the end of the world.
True good points

I hope Everton crack on for the rest of the season and can perform like that and take some good points of the rest of the of the top 6 sides they have to play.
They didn’t really play that well just tried to bully us.

Hopefully Sonny & Biss coming back soon will see Skipp and Gil get dropped from the bench. They simply are not good enough and we are always weaker when they are on the pitch. Harsh but true.

Last 7 games we have only played really well at Man Utd. We’ve had good spells in other games.
yes we have players coming back from injury and two still away
Maybe other teams are working us out. Lots of wayward passes today by usually reliable players.
Ange looked well pissed off in his interview. Everybody should be back for the Wolves game.
Everton did deserve something today. Between our goals we were quite poor.

True, we do have a decent run of fixtures coming up, with the exception of Villa away.

Richarlison just doesn't hold it up at all. His control is quite terrible. But as you say, two great goals so he can't be expected to do it all.

Just on the bus on the way back to Liverpool City centre, and yes I don't think we deserved to win the game. In both the first and second half we were guilty of giving the ball away far too often, and that led to the freewqkick being given which led to their equaliser. An opportunity for 3 points spurned there as I felt if we'd had stepped it up a bit more a 3rd would have killed them off.

Great 2nd for the Richy goal, had to stay quiet for it as I was in the Gwladys St Upper stand everyone around except me and my other half going absolutely mental with that equaliser and it was a bitter pill to swallow but if I'm being impartial without my Spurs glasses on they didn't deserve to lose.

Yeah they were knocking on the door throughout lol

Gil doesn’t work with the fullbacks at all. It compresses us on that side which results in an unbalanced midfield
Disagree, he links up well with his side and helped Udogie get in some dangerous positions at the end where had udogie just put his foot through the ball would have created a chance for us or issues for them

I felt like he was doing well but he got tired and started press deeper and created problems with his poor passing after maxing out, he should have been subbed off

He runs out of steam near the 80th min

I've seen a lot of comments on the subs coming on but not on who they replaced.

- Johnson. Started bright but pretty ineffective by the time he was taken off.
- Bentancur has been off the boil a bit and is finding it difficult in games where the physicality/intensity is super high.
- Some weren't expecting Maddison to play more than probably 60 mins given the midweek match and the long injury absence.
- Werner twisted his ankle on that chance from BJ and was struggling from that point after.
- Hojbjerg gave the ball away carelessly at around ~86 min and we've seen him do that before. He looked on his last legs about minute 70.

During the match those seemed logical subs to me. There aren't that many options on the bench so you make do with what you have. At that point of the match Everton had nothing, Vicario was commanding on everything into the box and Dragusin did well by physically outmuscling Beto on a few occasions. A needless foul by Kulusevski, an unfortunate header by Romero is what's creating the hysteria. Everton had offered little of anything up until, and including the their goal.

It's not like we created anything of note between the Sarr/Deki subs and their goal. Key players are lacking sharpness from long-term injuries/form and others are out with injury/int'l duty.

I agree the 3atb system (as a whole unit) hasn't been worked on enough but I didn't see it as giving Dragusin mins for the sake of it. He was simply trying to see out the match with minutes left.

A silly free-kick given away and here we are.

There are a few things we have to work on including remaining calm when the match becomes frantic. That's as much player maturity than anything else. We defended leads well in the first 10 matches and we can do it again but we need to get back to keeping calm and playing. I genuinely don't think our players are physically incapable of matching intensity but mentally there's still some work to do. I'm sure Ange is aware of it.

Knives are not out, its a football forum, we’re allowed to say that the substitutions are poor and probably cost us 2 points. Please find the posts where people are hating on Ange.
