Didn’t deserve to win that.

Shame the goal came right at the end but can’t really have too many complaints with the result, it was fair.

Poor subs for this fixture. Everton at home are always up for a scrap at the end if the game is in the balance. We should have killed them off with a third goal because for 35 minutes of the second half they didn't get much of the ball. Bringing on lightweight/undercooked players to see it out just invited pressure.

They made it a scrap and we didn't control the game enough. It was mainly down to the midfield. Theirs was more mobile and won more of the battles.

A scrap is always going to create chances for the opposition.

Officiating was dreadful as usual. Backing into a keeper and playing the man and not the ball has always been a foul, and Godfrey shouldn't have been on the pitch but the officials like to even the odds for scrappers against footballers. Perhaps to make the league more 'competitive'.

I have to keep reminding myself that we're only in Ange's first season and I probably need to temper my expectations. Also we have bents and Madison coming back from long term injuries. We'll click again soon 🤞🤞
Missing our best player as well

Aside from two goals we offered fuck all in that game. No composure in midfield, and sloppy at the back. Richy probably the only player to at can be satisfied with his effort tbh.
I still don’t agree with your standby that we were ‘poor in every department’. If that was the case we would’ve lost 4-0.

Not creating enough was a bigger problem than our defensive frailties. At no point did we have control of the game. We just didn't get away with it today.

Another flat performance. Everton deserved it. Bentancur looks exactly what he is, a man coming back after nearly a year out in total, Hojberg well not much new can be said, Johnson needs time and patience to come good but isn't offering enough at minute and Deki is off form as well.
Its a big 2 points dropped in top 4 race and could cost us alot by end of season unfortunately.

Got to be honest think we've been really poor for the last three games. Not clicked going forward other than a 7 minute blitz against Brentford. Seem to have dropped off massively in our control of a game and defensively.

Really frustrating today, just miles off it overall.
Kulusevski and Bentencur have lost their form

It’s effective at times to be fair. Not pretty on the eye but they deserved a draw imo, we never felt comfortable today for much of the game.

Dyche teams never easy to play against.

A bit lucky with their 2nd goal, Romero headed into the path of Braithwait.

Oh well we are still building this season although those points lost could be crucial in our quest for 4th against Villa.

They created zero good chances from open play, at home.

Their set pieces/targeting our keeper got them the point.

Had we been smarter we'd of seen that out pretty comfortably.

look this is how teams have to play against us, just clatter the living shit out of us, refs too scared to protect anyone these days as they just want to stay out of controversies and don't let us get into flow.

I get it, but man oh man we need sonny back ASAP.

Poor performance but more or less what I expected with such a short turnaround and our most influential creative players still lacking fitness (Maddison, Bentancur, Kulusevski).

We still have a long way to go as a team in our evolution and managing these types of games. The likes of Everton and Brentford will always be Ange’s kyrptonite so 4 points is an acceptable return.

Bringing on 2 short arses in Skipp and Gil to see out the game was poor from Ange. But Kulu deserves a fine for giving that freekick away. Pure petulance from him really.

Wasn’t great from Vic today I’m afraid, great shot keeper but there’s a question mark about him dominating the box. He’s too rooted to that goal line.

Disagree. He has come out plenty of times to claim crosses. Even done a few today

Conceding in injury time is frustrating, especially after leading twice. But a point at Goodison is not a bad result; they are much better than the table says for obvious reasons. Also Dyche’s teams are difficult to play against.

Bentacour and maddison obviously not up to speed yet.

We did ourselves no favours but my god, what has this ref and var been smoking... two goals that easily could (and should)have been chalked off. And throwing VDV to the ground is not a penalty?

Can’t wait for Bissouma to come back. Early season Biss gives us something that none of our other midfielders can.
