The fact these threads are so filled with possible and fantasy formations and selections says it all about where we are. You look at the top sides and even Leicester, they play their strongest 11 week in, week out. No change of shape, no over complications. Just the best 11 players at the club in the positions the team plays.

Aurier will of course start today, so will Eriksen. Its just waiting to see who the other disappointing selections are

Being captain is no honour today.

I think Dier might pull the short straw here and after the inevitable defeat, this will help MP make the case to transfer him in January.
The only upside is another defeat will also weaken MP and he'll have less of a say on who comes and goes.

I'm still looking forward to the game - I hope Son gets a goal even if it is just a consolation.

AS far as Captains go really have they helped?
Years ago Captains meant something. Usually they were midfielders who had a handle on the game. I mean Lloris, its a joke. He couldnt even get a kick out right

I'm just hoping it's not a repeat of Anfield where I was so optimistic that the penny had dropped, but was then totally deflated when I saw the starting lineup. I'll be lost for words if Eriksen starts this one and if Ndombele doesn't. Even if he only lasts 60 minutes or whatever, surely we must start with players who can do something with the ball.
Completely agree. If all the injuries/ illnesses are correct though I can see Eriksen starting.

Having too many attackers and too few defenders is a problem for us,and when they play shitty an even bigger problem and hpw many Leicester players are leaving?

Doesn't anyone read team news? Lamela is definitely out with a hamstring & Verts is doubtful with similar.
I was responding for to the fact that he had put him on the bench in his team. If he was good for the bench he would be good to start, thats all. Nothing to do with team news or second guessing Poch as most of you do. So to answer your patronising question, most of us do but so what?

Son should be captain today. He's already captain of his national side and he's one of the first names on the team sheet.

Current form should have some bearing. Players are currently being picked on reputation above anything else. It's the only explanation I can come up with.

Not that I think Poch will do it because he’s as stubborn as anything, but he needs to drop Eriksen and go with the new boys today. NDombele has to start. Lucas has to start now Kane is out. GLC needs to be given a chance and needs to start. Sessegnon needs atleast 30 mins game time. Make the right selection for once Poch you stubborn bastard!!!

The only explanation I can come up with as well. Goes against his previous statement that his players are picked on merit and form.

I’ve been vocal on my opinion that Poch needs to go. However I want nothing more than for Spurs to be successful, with or without him. I’m praying that we turn it on today and it’s the start of a run of results that sees us looking forward again. COYS!
