Dier wants to wait until the summer. Just post him off. Will we?

The only reason why I don't think we will is due to the injuries. Maybe something could have been agreed if he was frozen out completely or having a horrible attitude, but doesn't seem to be the guy to do that.

I would imagine it would take him forfeiting his wages for the remaining 6 months. Not sure what I would do if I were him.

I just don’t get why a professional player would waste a year of a short career just for a few extra quid. Surely in either summer or now in Jan a suitable club would have/will come forward and I doubt we are asking for much money? Odd to me.

Depends which club(s) and what deal they were offering. He also may have fancied trying to win Ange round

I can't see us paying him off unless we need the squad space. I think that will be unlikely.

it will be a bit of cat and mouse, if he thinks he won’t get registered he might leave as his value will probably diminish even more

I really like Eric Dier and think he’s been a very good servant.

Loyalty goes two ways and he’s earned the right to decide what’s best for him. Won’t get criticism from me. He was one of those players that formed the face of our change in attitude when Poch came in.

Always seemed like a ‘top bloke’, gives 100% and represented us well

Don’t think! Why give him the luxury? Tsking up valuable space. Worst still, you know you will see him on the subs bench

Waiting puts him in control… and a lot can happen in a short space of time in football.

He’s not gonna go anywhere, despite what west ham and spurs may agree, as I think he’s 6 months away from being a free agent and going wherever he wants with whatever signing on fee
He really gets to go wherever he wants???
Not sure I can see any top clubs offering him a contract that aren't prepared to bid for him now, anyway.
West Ham would be a good option, his family wouldn’t need to move.
And if one of ours has gone to West Ham, maybe (just maybe) it means that if they ever get someone we want, there's no instant "we don't do business with them".
Win, win, win :chicken:

Come on Herc. He’s played 365 games for the club (including being a regular in 4 CL qualifying teams) and never given less than his best. He’s earned the right to do what he wants, and if Ange thinks he’s worth a place on the bench then fair enough. If he’s not also fair enough
