Suppose I just don't see the angle where he's greedy however I spin it. It just doesn't seem greedy at all to see out a contract for payment that you signed, and in any other walk of life I don't think it would either. And not sure why we'd offer or he would accept us paying him half of what we owe him to go now. He can make any calculated risk he wants to, and is probably privately insured against any career threatening injury. Pay the man, imo!I think it all depends on things that we'll never be privy to.
Like, would the club pay off his wages, or let him leave for a free if he gives them up? Maybe pay him half of what he's due?
I doubt we're looking for a fee for him really, with his contract as it is.
I do think though, at his age, playing is the most important thing for his career right now and I would've thought that would be what Dier would wants.
I'm not against him staying for another 6 months and seeing out his contract but I don't think that's the sensible thing for him to do career wise.
Whatever happens though, I'm not going to slag him off because he's been a fucking good servant for the club.
It would seem a bit daft and a little greedy though.
