Don't know if this has been mentioned already but the 442 preview for today says Dier is the first defender in Prem history to score in his first 2 games.
I thought Dier player well today and was very unlucky with the penalty. He didn't even close his hand and grab Allen, he just touched him and he threw himself to the ground. That's a dive and a yellow card for me but that doesn't mean Dier can't still learn a big lesson from it.
Still, it was nice to see his attitude after that incident and the way he battled. Seeing him play against a side that battered us at times shows us more than we knew before. I think he's got a big future ahead of him, can't believe he's still so young.
