Now i'm not one for getting carried away, in fact I normally berate people on here that do....but....

Chelsea - Incredibly strong last season scoring goals from anywhere, but ageing squad and lots of off pitch problems with key players

Manchester United - Always strong but after losing Ronaldo they just are not the same attacking threat, and will Rooney be in form this season after the WC?

Arsenal - again the promised strengthening has failed to happen, yes they can pass the ball around most teams but they are very fragile these days.

Liverpool - New manager, and although I like RH he is hardly a 'big name' I can see Gerrard & Torres having second thoughts and without them it is a very mediocre squad.

Man City - HUGE pressure on Mancini, yes he can buy almost anyone but he already has a team full of big heads and their best player at the WC (Robinho) doesn't want to play for them! I can see Mancini sacked by Christmas if they are not in the top 3.

I can't see anyone else really pushing us, Villa will be their usual self, a bit like us a few years back, you only have to look at them trying to buy Bentley & Keane to see their lack of ambition...

Then there is THFC, maybe just maybe after years as the nearly men we can build on last season and really push on a level, none of us would be really surprised if we don't as we have had so many false dawns but maybe just maybe...

After all -

Chelsea - will win it again IMO, by no means finished in their transfer activities.

Arsenal - my bet to come 2nd. Have Chamachk and RVP up frontand a new CB, much stronger all round. Don't think Fiberglass will go to Barca this summer.

Man Utd - a poor season for them by their standards. Some truely underwhelming additions to their squad, with no more to follow IMO.

Then it's basically a straight fight between us and man city.
We'll be stronger, and city will have to deal with playing thursday/sunday/thursday/sunday for most of the season (europa). Don't know why, but i feel that this is more difficult to adapt to than playing on saturdays.

And the best of the rest will be everton. If hadn't been for their unbelievable list of injured players at the start of last season, i think we could of seen them right up with us and city.

1. chelsea
2. arsenal
3. man utd
4/5. SPURS/man city
6. everton
7/8. liverpool/aston villa

Also think that we could see the top 6 bunched even closer together, points wise.

So you think we'll win the league?

I think the title will still be between Chelsea and Man Utd. I think Man City can finish 3rd, and I think we'll be close to Arsenal this season challenging for 4th. I think Everton and Liverpool could also challenge but more likely to finish in the top 6, with Villa just behind.

I also expect Fabregas to either leave Arsenal or at least be unsettled. This could be our best chance to leapfrog them.

Very optimistic!

I have been supporting Spurs long enough now to still be wary of the false dawn. I have a horrible feeling we could be fighting to get a Europa league spot next season. Somewhere in the top 8....

This is just based on previous high expectations being let down and the added pressure of the Champion's League.

Yep I don't think you can look beyond Chelsea and Man Utd for the top 2 again. Im tipping Man Utd to come good again and win the league with Chelsea in 2nd. Arsenal just don't have about them to come close to competing with those 2 - Cesc's future remains unresolved, RVP was poor at the WC and their defence is a weak spot too. Liverpool need rebuilding, as does their confidence. If Torres goes, Gerrard will follow him out the door too.

I genuinely think we're the team under pressure this season. Everyone will be waiting for us to slip up in the CL and in the league - "can they take the pressure?" etc etc.

I think City and Everton will be pushing this year and I actually think Newcastle will turn a few heads too.

1. Man Utd
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Spurs
5. City
6. Everton
7. Villa
8. Newcastle

Liverpool not even in the top 8? wow!

now i'd absolutely love for that to come true, just to see the look on Hansen's and Barry chuckles face, but somehow i don't think that will happen.

I think that the 2010-2011 season is possibly going to be much harder then the 2009-2010 season....As mentioned above, Arsenal have made some sound signings, Evertons injuries, Liverpool were generally poor, Villas general consistency and Man City spending even more millions will probably mean the top 4 and then 5th to 8th is going to be a closely thought afair.

Despite the comment regarding RH at Liverpool I have a feeling he may have the same persona as Harry did for Spurs and therefore will get a bond with the players, have them playing as a unit (maybe not straight away) and will therefore be far more consistent then last season.

If you look at our opening 6 games, all are winnable on paper. The City game will be the toughest, but after that we should be taking maximum points if we a serious about mounting a challenge.

can see us drifting off a bit this year

1. united (cant see them losing out again)

4. City
5. Liverpool

As said we have been fortunate with the fixtures for the first couple months and really need to use that to build up momentum and have us in a descent position by xmas.

It will be a difficult season and for us. The major factor will be our whole squad, being able to bring players in and out to cope with the added cup games. I will need to see how the transfer window goes before I could say where we'd finish but as it stands I'd say 6th.

Wow I can't believe how pessimistic some people are being on here!

Last season people were saying 7th and look how that turned out. Yes City have strengthened but last summer people were saying the same thing and not only did we finish above them but we looked a comfortably better team despite having 10 first team players out at one point.

Liverpool will in all likelyhood struggle again unless new investment comes in soon. Their league position last season was in line with the strength of their team.

Everton are a very good side but their squad is thin and they will have injuries to deal with.

Villa are treading water. Milner will go and they'll get someone in to replace him but I can't see them pushing on massively.

Catching up with the Goons, Chavs or United is likely a bridge too far but I expect us to be in the fight for 4th again. I'm not saying we will definitely get it but I expect us to be thereabouts.

If we can make that 1 signing we need (Dzeko, Fabiano, Forlan etc) I see no reason why we can't do better than last season.

COYS!

Spurs fans are pessimistic! If we lose our first two games people will start talking about relegation and calling last season a flash in the pan, asking for Redknapp to be replaced.

1)Chelsea to win the league as they have just too much strength in depth not to, particularly with an overhauled Essien
2)Man Ure once again a close second with Rooney still affected by his W.C. disaster
3)Spurs, with less injuries to worry about and strengthened by the signings of J.Cole, Richards and Bellamy, plus hopefully a strong hold up #9 type (Zlatan will do the job very nicely, thank you very much)
4)Arse anal, when the going gets tough they no longer have the character to respond as in their good old days
5)Man Citeh, overpriced bunch of individuals who will still not have learnt to play as a team due to too many egos getting in the way.
6)Bin dippers, only because R.H. is there otherwise they'd be even worse off, especially if Mascherano, Gerrard or El Nino leaves
7)Everton, so consistent but too small a squad to call upon, especially around Xmas time when the injuries come a calling.

Guate's estimate it probably the most likely outcome...and we should all start the seaosn accepting that qualifying for CL again is our real target...but...

I didn't say we would win the league or treble just that we can build on a good season and finish in the top 4 again, maybe even top 3 if things go our way. I don't agree that Arsenal will be better this season but I guess you can never write them off. Yes it will almost certainly be between Man Utd & Chelsea but does anyone else stand out?

The way some 'fans' on here carry on unless we win our first 5 games we will be doomed and "Harry out" will be the call...
