Didn't the Portugal World Cup game two years ago prove that Rooney cannot play as a lone striker? He got too frustrated with the lack of service, came deep and stamped on someone's balls and got sent off as I recall.

I think they are looking for Gerrard and/or JJ to get forward alot, same with J.Cole.

Dont think a lone striker is the way to go, but it should be better than the last time

Problem is England have is no one is getting forward. A couple of times when a midfielder has it no one is getting ahead of the player with the ball, apart from Rooney who is marked by 4 defenders :lol:
