Very limited side, as we all know.

Players I would definitely take to the World Cup:

Hart, Foster.
Walker, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Shaw.
Gerrard, Carrick, Wilshere
Townsend, Lallana, Sterling, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck

Five places up for grabs that I don't know who to select. Another keeper is easy to fill, we have some candidates. Fuck knows who you pick as two spare centre backs though, I guess Smalling will be one of them and probably Jones but I'm not convinced with any of them. Another proper centre mid is needed, who though? Likely candidates will be Henderson and Cleverley but again don't want to pick either. Then do you pick another out and out striker (Lambert) or select someone like Barkley or Lampard as an extra attacking midfielder?

Edit: This completely disregards the inescapable fact that Plodder Milner will already have his place in the squad inked in.

Disagree, both are good players, Shaw is by far the best young left back in the country and Lallana has a decent football brain, one i wish Townsend could have a tiny bit of.

Good players but they've benefited from the added media attention that Southampton is getting at the moment. Adam Johnson's been playing very well lately (7 goals in his last 9 games), his form should put him ahead of Andros Townsend who has hardly played for Spurs. Huddlestone and Delph have played well this season and haven't had a look in at all. These players are being punished for playing week in week out for smaller clubs while bit part players at the major clubs continue to get selected for the squad.

Lambert and Barkley both give something different so i would add them, i would rather Barkley gets blooded than just trot Lampard out again.

It's not just added media attention though is it, Shaw is a real genuine quality left back getting linked constantly with a big move away and has a great season so far.
Johnson's form should put him ahead of Andros, i agree with that.

I've heard a lot of younger a are in the Danish squad, how far is this away from their first 11? It's been a pretty shit game tbh.

This is pretty much our strongest lineup, taken into account that Eriksen is not involved. With that being said, nobody (not even the coach) is really sure who our best LB, RB and RW are. I think we lines up better for the 2nd half.
Oh, and Schmeichel is normally 2nd option.

I would sell Sigurdsson and Townsend tomorrow and chuck all the cash Southamptons way for Lallana.

We definitely need more guile, intelligence and attacking verve in our side that's for sure.

Exactly the type we need to get more out of Soldado as well. Could imagine him, Eriksen and Soldado all being on the same wave length.

We're crying out for more of this.

Lallana booked his place tonight IMO.

Also good to see Liverpool players on the pitch for most of the game. Hopefully takes a toll.

I think he had already booked his place. I think he'll be considered a starter now though and so he should.

The thing is Barkley has played himself out of the Everton team and is playing really bad. We should rewarding good play and trying the grooming shit again like we did with Lampard. We need a clean slate.

How any manager can justify the selection of
Smalling - United fans hate him atm and he got roasted against Olympicakos
Wellbeck - Hasn't played for united in a long time
Cleverly - absolutely dog poo, he must of caught Roy in a uncompromising position
Cole - Currently a RB is playing ahead of him as a LB at his club
Milner - Good defensively? Play another RB you prick and if he has pace at least you have something to counter with

Now these players are shouldn't be in the squad either
Barkley
Chamberlain
Townsend

All will be big players for England but Barkley has played himself out of the team, Townsend been injured and the same for Chamberlain.

You lose respect when you have favourites.

Ramos got told to fuck off/get dropped when he wanted Costa not to be picked or accept it and play. Spain also dropped Isco, Illarmendi and Jese despite all 3 due to be huge players for Spain in the future

The difference being that Spain have the quality and depth to be able to do that.

Wellbeck - Hasn't played for united in a long time

Welbeck scored 2 goals for Utd in 23 starts & 16 sub appearances in the 2012/13 season and still participated in 5 of England's 6 World Cup qualifiers & the friendlies against Sweden and Brazil that season. It's worrying how little club form seems to count towards selection.

True but they only have one winger Navas. They also don't have many options for DM.

However Huddlestone has been nothing short of superb for Hull

Huddlestone and Osman >>> Barkley
Shaw and Gibbs >>> Cole
Johnson(atm) >>> Milner, Wellbeck
Barry(atm) >>> Cleverly
Dawson and Caulker >>> Smalling

Ok if you want to build for the future fair enough but then why play long ball Gerrard, 35 year old Lampard and 33 year old Cole.

Also Im sick of youth been overrated to the point where they calling for a world cup place for players before they even got a cap like Morrison. He scored one decent goal(it wasn't as good as people make out, people made out he beat the whole team because he started at the half way line but with AVB's high line it was only like 2 guys) and the people made out he was the best thing since sliced bread. Barkley will be a great player but people are wanting him in the team now, people never fucking learn and since his form has dipped. Butland was playing for the national team but was utter dog shit for birmingham in the championship. WTF?!

Look our best players for england in the last 3 or 4 fixtures(qualifiers) for england have been Lallana and Townsend. Who if you followed their careers have often been overlooked for more illustrious names!

Lallana has only made one appearances for the U21's whilst Milner made 48.

Townsend was struggling to be ahead of Zaha and Ince 14 months ago, one of whom was going to be up there with Messi.

He did play on the wing alot and did well but he has been shocking despite that. remember he was starting over Lallana at the start of the season on the wing.o_O

Also I cant see any justification for Cleverly, not one point other than he plays for united

has anyone started a petition against Wayne Rooney yet ?
I said a year or two back Rooney should be dropped to get a reaction or to build a team. Got some stick for it but I still think we should do it. Yes he is our most gifted player but if he hardly turns up for England. So how much longer of poor performances.

The amount of heat Hodgson would get for dropping him from the squad would not be worth it. There would be a massive shitstorm in the media and among the fans.

I'm glad @beats1 mentioned him as Barry has been fantastic for Everton this year and should certainly be going.

Although no matter who goes I'm sure we won't impress. I'd like us to do what Brazil did after the 1990 World Cup and that's barely to play anyone over 25.

Luke Shaw was good but Ashley Cole was immense in the first half ....Gerrard is looking like england's Pirlo
but Rooney was shocking all night.....!!
