I dozed off too watching that. One thing that i hate about most of the England team at the moment is the pure arrogance, non smiling, silly haircuts, thinking they're the best thing since sliced bread, Liverpool infused crock of horse poo. They're supposed to enjoy playing for England, not look like it's more painful that having teeth pulled.

How Henderson can get 90 minutes is beyond me, what does he offer, apart from having a jaw as big as a four storey car park. He's had, what, a good half season for a team, playing once a week, living in the shadows of Gerrard and Suarez.

Nothing changes with England and nothing ever will.

Davies has had an excellent season for Hull too. He would be a better option than Smalling.

It is really hard to pick a starting 11 at the moment who full deserve to be at the world cup. So far I definitely would take (brackets are form dependant/ what I would include):

GKs: Hart, Forster, (Ruddy?)

RBs: Walker (Johnson?)

CBs: Cahill, Jagielka, (Caulker/ Davies form dependant? Outside chance of Dawson)

LBs: Shaw, Baines

CMs: Gerrard, Barry, Huddlestone, Henderson (form for club has been very good)

RM/RAM: (Sterling?, A Johnson?)

CAM: (Osman? Barkley?)

LM/LAM: Lallana (Ox?)

ST: Sturridge, Lambert, Rooney (He will never get dropped that why he sucks arse so much at times)

I hope we do not go for versatility, why take someone who is half decent in two positions over someone who is decent in their position.. Players like Milner (Can be useful, but majority of the time isn't), Welbeck, Smalling, Jones who are play in two positions but are playing terrible should not go.

With that team we can line up in a few different ways:

A 4-3-3 if we ever play against top opposition, the Brazil's, Germany's etc, where we need decent passers (Gerrard, Huddlestone) in the middle who can launch the ball 30+ yards with accuracy so we can counter with pace on the wings and up top, along with an enforcer who can break up play (Barry).

A 4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1 to play against teams we should beat, having creative midfielders/(Rooney) who can split the opposition and create chances.

A 4-3-2-1 where we need interchangeable players against teams who are sitting deep and counter attacking.

I wonder if Hodgson thinks that Townsend could be an impact sub in the World Cup and was testing out how quickly he could get involved if we were to fall behind to a late goal in Brazil? Hodgson seems to very methodical so it wouldn't surprise me if he was planning for this.

I know Walkers ours and all that, but really ?? He's been gash for us this season, poor distribution, wanders into the middle to much and offers nothing going forward.

I suppose the same could be said though for any right back we have. I remember the days when we had tons of right backs and only Cole on the left. Now it's a complete switch, 3 decent left backs and no solid right back.

I think Andy Carroll will go. If we go into the last 15 minutes of a game chasing a goal. Centre backs would hate to come up against a rough arse hairy geordie like him.

I thought England looked shit without Suarez last night...

It was pretty dull viewing last night, but then most friendlies are.

I just hope when it comes to the crunch, Woy picks players on performance and not team league position.

I also noticed last night how easily the Liverpool contingent went down under a challenge...the suarez effect maybe?
