Well, he's right. They are a bunch of quality players. And they were all over the place.
Egypt deserved to be in the final for the second time in row..
We won the last CAN fair and square on our homeland and we are looking forward to win it for the 6th time in history to add a sixth star on our national team shirt chest.
Me and some of the Egyptian members of SC have told you a lot about our good base of players playing in the domestic league who deserve to play at the highest level in europe but for some reasons which make that so difficult..
first of all, when European scout is sent to look for a foreign talent, He is basically searching for africans when muscles is the needed, egyptians are no muscles although they have superb stamina..on the other hand scouts look for brains in south america and mexico and Egypt has some brilliant brains, unfortunately egypt is far away from the western continent..
thats why Egyptian players are primarily excluded from the scouts shortlists.
Moreever, the standard of living of footballers in Egypt are far better than other African nations and its kinda near to that of belgium, netherlands, turkey and other 2nd class european footballing nations..
That makes the Egyptian player less tempted to leave Egypt to Europe, also he's to do the obligatory military duty when he's around 20 years old which hinders his departure to any country at the ideal age of leaving to Europe., on the other hand European clubs doesn't offer fat bids to tempt Egyptian clubs to let their players go rating the egyptian league as low as other african leagues which is non-sense..we have a good league which is near to leagues of belgium , turkey, greece,....etc ..
We' ve proven that by winning the ACN more than any other nation each time with a squad made up of domestic league players, Ahly FC " the club no.1 in Egypt and Africa" making 3rd place in the World cup of clubs and Mohamed Abo treka making the best 5 african players of the year 2006 despite playing for Ahly in Egypt.
Egyptian players playing for the top clubs of the league recieve around 0.4 M $ /year.
Egyptian top club Ahly made a record bid for a player in other egyptian club of 5 M $ so how on earth could a european club risk matching such bid for a player playing in the most underrated country in Africa ?
