Brazil obliterated Haiti. Ecuador just leveled it up at 2 with Peru. Montero's been impressive this summer down the wing. Wonder if Swansea will try and cash in from some desperate club.

MLS ref crew gonna MLS. Horrific penalty call to give Chile the win in injury time. But not surprising when you know MLS. Reffing has been absurdly putrid all year and nothing has been done to address it. Had to know that was coming.

I just cannot look at MLS as a legit league with crap like this. When you have refs that have taken it upon themselves to regularly have an impact on the outcome on games and do not do anything about it halfway through your season, you are a joke. Combine this with essentially running the USSF and acting like a cartel toward other leagues in the country, and the league is really a complete joke to me. Really awful that this is the shit the US has had to put up with from its own league. And it just hurts the sport's stature here and the league.

Martino should take off Fernandez for Messi now. Panama down to 10 men. Go for the jugular early.

Messi is just wayyyyy too good. Came on in the 60'. Hat trick by 87' without breaking a sweat. Including an absolute beauty of a free kick.

Messi with a hell of a pass to lead to an assist. Sheesh. Unbelievable. Floodgates just opened since he's come on and he's barely breaking a sweat. 5-0 now. Messi's had a hand in all 4 goals since coming on. Sorry but he is so much better than Ronaldo, IMO.

Yedlin just received 2 yellow cards inside 15 seconds. And not one of them was for complaining. Or necessary for that matter

And now the ref's stopped the game in the middle of a Paraguay attack because he got a cramp.

This competition is a joke :D

"Fire Klinsmann!" - Says American fans even though he's gotten us past 2 extrenely tough groups in the 2 big competitions including winning the group this competition.

Now we likely face Peru or Ecuador in Seattle which should be a very fun atmosphere. After that, it's Argentina which I am deathly afraid of. Messi will probably shred us for 5 goals.

Only took us 20 years but we've got another hand of god. Peru handball goal to beat Brazil as Brazil crash out in the group stages.

I feel sorry for Brazil... But they only got theirselves to blame. Think they took it too easy. Almost expecting to walk to the semis.

Gonna make Erik's team the favourites to win the cup now. Lol

This tournament has been classic Clint Dempsey. Does absolutely nothing outside of the box then somehow, someway, finds his way into the box and scores or sets up goals at key times. Wild. 3 goals, 2 assists now in 4 games.

South American refs might be more brain dead than MLS refs. A WEAK first yellow last match to Yedlin, a straight red to Jermaine Jones this match for absolutely nothing after Antonio Valencia went in hard on a challange to Bedoya. Then while Jones is STILL on the field, the ref re-starts play and immediately gives Bobby Wood a yellow for a challange which suspends him for the next match(if the US holds on). I think CONMEBOL is clapping back at the US for shutting down their corruption ring at this point.
