1. What Chelsea are doing is a disgrace.

2. Wonder if this has anything to do with Gallagher.

Agree what they are doing is a disgrace, but there's definitely some logic to it. All these kids they're signing for around 20m, if they keep them long enough, will end up being homegrown... and we've seen the price of homegrown players this window.

Can't see why a young player would want to go there, unless they end up being incredible, they're only being used to potentially make profit for Chelsea.

But Sarr is best in the Bentancur role,
and Gallagher is best in the Bentancur role,
and Skipp is best in the Bentancur role.

It's a strong midfield group but I think someone whose natural role more closely matches Bissouma or Maddison (preference for Bissouma) would make more sense.
Can only go by the idea that we would not be playing these guys in like for like positions (eg not a straight 6/8/10 like we currently have)

To me if we're signing a midfielder it should be someone who plays as a 6 so that we have rotation for Bissouma. I have concerns that Skipp's development has stalled and Ange clearly doesn't see him as a 6 in his system. So instead of signing another 8 I think we should be getting a young 6.

This was my reasoning earlier. If you are playing a system, you want the players to be able to swap in and out without having to completely change the way you play just because a certain player isn’t available, as seen against Fulham, not having Bissouma available to instigate our play between defence and midfield stifled our rhythm. Bentancur can do that role, I suspect Sarr could pick it up too, but Skipp perhaps not so much. Douglas Luiz would be the one for me, has the technical skill, and athleticism/agility to beat the press from deep and play out as a Bissouma type 6, yet has the shootout accuracy to be an effective 8 also.

Spurs interested in Chelsea's Gallagher

Tottenham are interested in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Spurs' main focus is on outgoings but they are exploring whether to make a move for Gallagher on Deadline Day.
Chelsea rejected a bid in the region of £40m from West Ham earlier this window.
Gallagher has entered the final two years of his Blues contract.

Gallagher is a good player and could very well improve our midfield as think he would be ahead of Skipp, normally would have no issue with this but it would be £50M in a position that we don't desperately need, when we have 2 if not 3 Positions that could really damage are season if not addressed

I’d say this is nailed on if we’re are interested, make a lot of sense, a very good player and I’d be happy.

Yeah but I guess there’s no strikers available we can get right now. Plus if we get Johnson and Conor (maybe tosin) in now and we are sorted for HG then it frees us to go big on a foreign striker/winger jan/next summer we could be in a good spot again

I think if we see the dominoes start to fall of "here we gos" of Felix to Barca or Carrasco to Saudi then I think the wheels will be in motion. Otherwise I'd expect PEH to stay

Ah this sucks.

Seen him a lot and he is really mature for his age and plays with intelligence.

I knew PL teams were following him but didnt know who and was hoping it wasnt Chelsea.

Chelsea have appointed the ex-Corinthians technical director as scout so thats why they are hoovering up a lot of top talent from São Paulo clubs.

There is no way Palmer is going to Chelsea from City to have the same type of rotation Role as now. Could Palmer be the Gallagher replacement ?

Have seen some twitter 'tactico's' describe him as Brazilian Declan Rice

There's absolutely no way that we're bringing in this kid. If we do, I pledge to change my avatar to Tanguy.

At the beginning of the window 50M was definitely too much, seems more like a 30-35M player on par with what Mac Allister went for and below Maddison. Seems like times have changed and values have skyrocketed within the window so maybe 50M isnt crazy money anymore. He'd be an interesting fit though and it seems Ange wants him based on all of the links. Not great in the build up as a passer, but he's an elite presser, finds great spots in the box and has a nice shot at multiple levels. I think he could be a nice addition surrounded by players who could make up for his passing deficiencies.

Who knows with that lot, but he's played every game so far and even captained their league cup match last night, so this just seems unlikely.

Why don't we just buy Palmer (arguably a better player) and cut out the middle man/club?
