This is coming back up again, can’t see Palace letting him go.

So Eze is the big name being linked to us at end of window. Happens every window around this time and just like every other time it ain't going to happen.

I reckon Base and Spurs have already talked about Eze and planned a transfer next summer when it's one year left on his contract. Obviously still depended on someone like City not coming in. This summer he'd probably be 80m

I literally just said to a mate, I'd rather Eze than the Johnson/Gallagher combo. I didn't think it was viable though, Olise staying gave me a slither of hope but seems too late in the day now.

Who has mentioned him other than Delaney?

That would be sensible and make the most sense. He isnt going to come now, it is too late in the window.

He’s at an age with the ability to be a first team player. He’s Prem ready and needs little settling in time.

I don’t see him taking Bissouma or Bentancur’s place plus Sarr is showing huge promise.

So unless he’s going to play further forward I don’t see where he fits in.

We won’t see the best of Bentancur until next year.

He’ll have lost a lot of muscle strength, power, agility, and endurance. He’ll likely be carrying scar tissue around the knee for another 6-18 months, playing through discomfort and making recovery from 2 games a week more difficult to be consistently at his best.

Eze excels at 10, LWF where he immediately improves the XI, and can adequately cover RWF and 8.

Lo Celso will leave in the next 1-2 windows for more game time as less versatile.

Fati would have bought us a year and saved us £40m on Eze but that deal was deemed beneath us so I’d be all in on Eze at this point.

I don’t know much about him other than highlights and reports.

I’ve always thought he played a bit deeper. But if he fits into the front 3 then he could be an option.

He started off as winger, then a 10, then developed his conditioning to be able to play a double 8 CM3 in a pinch as he’s a more powerful runner than Lo Celso.

He’d walk into our front 3, and make our midfield options bullet proof next season.

I’d break the bank for him, rather than overpay for Johnson.

Feels like trying to shoe horn him into a position that isn’t really his.

He’d also be long term sim replacement. I’d rather Levy spent the money on him than Gallagher and Johnson.

It seems people continue to put blind faith in that Lo Celso is going to come through in the Premier League when all tangible evidence thus far proves he won’t.

It was apparent against Fulham that we are one Maddison injury away from an unbalanced squad. Eze would give us protection in that 10 role and is also versatile enough to play on the LW where he started out in his career. I think the move makes a lot of sense.

Eze and Gallagher definitely upgrade GLC and PEH, but can't see it happening

I love EZE but a point about Lo Celso. Was he the issue or was the other two in midfield who aren't great passers ?

One of my biggest concerns this season is if Bissouma gets Injured, I think a press resistant deep lying midfielder is crucial to this system. He makes everything tick and of course Maddison dropping deep and help us also really important.

I just wonder what Lo Celso would look like alongside Bissouma and Sarr.

Much like the Palinha link I really don't see this happening so late in the window. It'd leave Palace massively short and at risk of dropping into the dogfight at the bottom.

Id argue Son and Kulu are being far more shoe horned into their roles in this system.

Eze is a monster 1 v 1 two way dribbler. Inventive, strong, agile, and obscenely talented. The question mark was whether he could learn the game at the top level which he has.

There’s a reason City wanted him. Much like Grealish and Silva, Eze is a player you can use in multiple positions.

He’d be our best left winger. Our best right winger. Our joint best no.10 (varied skill set to Madds) and a more attacking weapon at no.8 to rescue a game.

He’s a player you want for your XI and your squad if you want to seriously challenge for the title.

Son is probably done now as a world class LWF. He’s lost a yard, but could still be a 20+ goal a season CF for a while yet which is exactly what we need.

Honestly Id sacrifice Lo Celso and Peresic and go all out for Eze if we there was any chance Palace would deal. Which there’s a very slim chance they might if there were enough good players to spend 70-80m on and a few loan sweeteners from us, Rather than them pray Eze doesn’t get injured.

Probably left it too late though.
