There's a lot of "I want to win trophies" talk from Kane. It's encouraging but also incredibly worrying. It's the first hint that he might be off if we don't get over the line even as early as this season.

Just as well we have the best manager in the business at winning silverware then isn't it. ;)

I see what your saying and was thinking the same but no way he doesn’t stay for Jose’s first full season

Completely agree. You can see he's setting the stage for him asking to leave. "I am making it clear I want to win trophies now, I want to do that here but I want to win trophies at this stage of my career", "this year is the year to do it".

We have him for another 18 months and then he goes IMO if we aren't winning things by then.

“For almost five years, we have tried to play from the back, but now we are trying something new,” said Son. “We have to fight for the second ball.”
Finally. Details like this is finally taken a proper look.

I think we’ve got him till 2021 at least, and anything more depends on the state of the club at that point. he’ll still have three years on his deal at that point and given his comments I wouldn’t foresee him winding down to leave for free like Eriksen, so if he wants to go, get a world record fee for him after 8 years service goalscoring, if not, we continue having the worlds best striker.

Well many (most?) of the fans showed his old boss no loyalty so I don't know why they would expect any loyalty from any player including Harry.

This is one of the reasons I think Levy and many (most?) fans have shit themselves on the managerial decision. I don't always agree with playing out from the back in each instance, but I understand why it is an enforced tactical approach. Until players are so comfortable doing it that they can choose when and when not, you must insist on it. It's a steep learning curve, and puts players under severe pressure to beat the press. If you don't insist, players will nearly always choose the softer option of hoof ball, territory, and second balls. Poch decided it was a progressive way to play, and all age levels, including 1st team, did it. Now the work to develop that may be for naught. If you can't do it well, you're stuck with putting lots of air between the ball and the pitch for kick outs, of which there are several per game.

And all for the phoney narrative that winning some domestic bauble will mean more than the progress and tangible achievements of the past 5 years. Ugh.

which he also says pretty much. He’ll give it a full season of Mourinho before deciding what to do I suspect. By then it will be time for him to sign a new contract, so if he doesn’t want to then we might have to sell him. Imagine Kane leaving for free! ?

Kane’s words pretty much confirms what we suspected. We had to replace Poch with Mourinho. No other manager would have commanded the respect and perceived ability to win trophies. I suspect we’d have a real problem in the summer had Levy appointed another project manager.

It sounds like he’s installed that winning belief already in Harry and Eric. I don’t think any other appointment would have done that.

Ok. In two summers time it will be 2021. We’d want to offer him a new contract then and get him to sign it else or prepare for him to be sold 12 months later. All hypothetical anyway and something nobody wants to see happen (him leaving).

No doubt its why we appointed Jose. We needed to show that ambition and ultimately I think it will pay off.

I think we were always in the fight against time as we suddenly had a top class squad which wasnt anticipated just as the crucial part of the stadium development started.

We always prioritised the off-field but now looks like we are taking the risk now in trying to capitalise on having the likes of Kane.

Ex Sunderland skipper Micky Gray apparently told pals at an ex pros charity match that Teddy Sheringham said that Poch should join the scum because of the way we treated him, as some sort of revenge.it was reported in the media today.
I was Poch's no.1 fan and agree he's sacking was harsh , but if its true and Teddy suggested that, then he can go fuck himself ,pathetic comment coming from someone who claims to be Spurs.....i don't see why Gray would throw Sheringham under the bus if it wasn't said.

Most of the scums ex players seem to be so loyal to woolwich , ours not so much, could be the way Levy treats them?
Anyhow , i didn't expect that from Teddy who once said he hated woolwich, again i hope its not true and fake news...
