yup old Danny thinks it is 2004 and Jose is the new young rising star....feels like he can get the success out of him that the Russian did....without spending the money of courseWorst kept secret seems to be out?
Poch got toby a big deal from dannyCan we at least know now what happened between Poch and Toby???
and in a nut shell the divide between fans in this era of enic is laid bareThe full quote doesn't support your view...
“The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.”
They're only opinions so I can't say they're wrong, but I think those two statements are bloomin' mental. We signed our deal with the devil and now we have to live with it. I’m not saying I won’t enjoy it if we do well underneath him but it will always feel tainted.
It was a very easy fix. Levy had to back Pochettinho in the market period. Stand by the man and have trust...he bottled it big time did want to spend the money.I like a lot of you I am gutted that Poch's reign is over without him winning any thing with us. But if truth be told, he had the chances to do so and didnt take them.
Poch is a brilliant coach who developed and improved players magnificently. But where he fell down was his stewardship on match days, where his team selection, game management and tactics were questioned on too many occasions. The CL final is the classic example. People need to take their heads out the sand and realise that we were spiraling down the league because of this, and the fact that other teams had worked out how to counter his methods, where he then didn't know how to respond.
People calling for Levy to fuck off and accusing him of not backing the manager need to be real. Despite the rhetoric, Poch was backed and supported by Levy. I know of players that were available who some of us were crying out for him to sign, while club was willing to get them, Poch didn't want them. Players including Maddison and co. This is where is I think his player assessment is suspect, which ties in nicely with his questionable selection at times.
The problem in my opinion is not that Poch was not getting certain players, its what who would do with them if he got them, because as I said his game plan and tactics were iffy, so we would more than likely be in the same position as we are in now.
Daniel Levy was never going to win this one as he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. In the end he made the right call in my opinion.
Thanks for 5+ wonderful years Poch, as you will always be revered here and rightly so, but its time for the next chapter.
Is Levy going to pay up or dance.

I agree, the game is about glory. It's just that for me, glory is winning trophies (however they come), and success doesn't have to be romantic to be success. All cool, I get where you're coming from, just a difference in what we want out of Spurs, fair dos. It’s definitely emotional but mental? Jose has always been one of my least favorite characters in football (I am not alone in this assessment) but I’ll admit that he’s pretty much always been relatively successful. I loved Poch because I thought he would bring us organic, romantic success - the game is about glory and all that isn’t it? - but if Jose brings us trophies I have no doubt the narrative will always be about him and how he dragged a loser club finally over the line and that he’s gods gift to football management. I’ll enjoy the success because I love spurs but don’t tell me I’m wrong if I don’t see the feeling of selling out. I rest my case.
No mate. Because every well-regarded football pundit/person/expert has said similar things all evening. What do most of them know though, lonman34 thinks otherwise.Because Carragher said it?
LOL
Say what we want about Mourinho and I can say plenty. I wanted Allegri but Jose is just as well to be honest. There is no denying that someone like him is what we need right now. We need that win at all costs guy to teach this club how to win.IMHO, Poch made one serious mistake. He dropped Lucas for Harry Kane in the Final. If not for that, I truely believe we would have won, Harry wasn't match fit, and that made the difference.
His game management has always been suspect, but he has had us playing some fantastic football, got us to the CL final, brought us back the glory days.
I really detest Moaninio, but the Club is bigger than any individual. Fcuk my head is about to explode! ?
Lol. See you SaturdayAnyone else suddenly lost all interest in football, please join the queue.
